Jesus. The comment's. Just because they went a different track with a different version. I love the original version, I really like this version. It seems some snobs think if a song isn't out of this world then the only other viable opinion is that its shite. I also appreciate any musicians or singers that can play any version of anything. I was born with zero musical talent ( I mean zero) and fingers more suitable for boxing rocks but very appreciative ears. Well done guys. Its a mad world and musicians are an unbelievably valuable release for most of the population of the planet. I've been and seen people in awful depths of despair that got something out of music. Maybe just enough to carry them through to the following day that might have been the day something better started happening for them. Musicians are hero's in my eyes.

Indeed the best version of this great song. It's so fast it makes me want to dance and I am 58 and fooked but hell who cares as this music is sweet man.

I prefer the original, but THIS is a great improvisation. I especially like the inclusion of flute and the repeating motif. Nice to see Newfoundland music with the flute out front. Great work!

Pray tell who you believe did the "original'" please.
@scottbreon94484 жыл бұрын
@@tomtheeagle1 It was composed by Michael Considine (1850-73) I doubt you would find a recording of him singing it though. LMAO

@@scottbreon9448 Thank you for that easily found information and for missing my point. Or maybe you didn't?! Traditionally passed down songs rarely have an original but I am sure Earon believes he knows what it is. I was hoping he'd share. Stay safe,

completely without class or subtlety.....thats the way a black bahamian band playing in trinidad would put out spancil hill whats wrong with these guys? they need to get sober and rethink their whole situation unless they want to be the top cuban style band playing the button accordion.

Agreed lad, they do seem to have a knack for butchering classic Irish pieces.

Sorry only picking up on this comment now. You have to grasp the fact that some people just like playing music for the love of it and not a bespoke arrangement that fits your tastes. I know that the likes of X factor have given people the illusion that their point of view of art is ultimate but it's not. Go back to feeding your birds and understand the true nature of music
