thanks loved the reaction! this song is so goooddd but as a 16 year old, my first initial reaction was me being speechless because while looking at the lyrics there were explicit words and sayings that i just couldn’t get with. overall, i enjoyed how trendy yet simple the song was and i’m looking forward to hear more music from NewJeans 💙

@Dior Linn All music is influenced by all things. If you go to Korea and ask any Korean they will not know the 'cookie' slang. I mean it is a slang from America. There are different cultures all over the world, so when the song is from Korea, you should not expect it to represent culture from America or any other countries. Talking about the influence, America, or the west is no longer the benchmark place for the K-pop, maybe 10 years ago, but they are now in their own league, When you hear the sound of K-pop you know it is K-pop, because it sounds so different from anything come out of the west.

@Dior Linn The phrase 'Do you want to eat ramen at my house?' is sexual slang in Korea (I am serious) but if I say that in America no one will think it is sexual, but If I say that to some girl in Korea, 100% of young people will think it is sexual comment. If you look at the reaction video about 'cookie' from Koreans they all say the lyrics is very cute, some even say it fits so nicely with their teen image...etc

@@grow1820 the point is the people who made the music and allowed them to sing it are american producers, and the staff the green lighted it definitely knew about the context cause they have to that’s their job. I’m worried about the type of adults that these kids are under the care of. For young idols it is VEEEERY common later in life to realize you were mistreated as a kid by the idol industry.
