This route begins with free parking at the base of Cat Bells of which I would avoid at weekends as it is always full very early.
The walking path itself from there is self evident following the edge of the Newlands valley before decensing the back of Robinson towards Newlands Hause and back up to Knott Rigg and Ard Crags ridge.

You deserve a medal after that hike Dave!!.We did Knott Rigg and Ard Crags as a stand alone walk. Again we did this round in reverse to you...that drop from Dale Head is brutal....Well done.Regards , JC

i didnt mind the dale head part, but again the route in reverse might have been better as i really hated the descent from robinson to newlands hause... horrible path

Fantastic vid again Dave. Love the Newlands Valley. Did this walk (missing Catbells, Knott Rigg and Ard Crag as I’d done them already) and that was still a fair walk. Good on you for getting through them all on a short day too 👍👍👍

As i said in the video it doesn't look that far round when ur standing on Cat bells, I was very surprised to see 10hrs clocked in at the end and that's because you can really lose yourself and enjoy it because the path is relatively safe and no navigation required so I found myself just chilled out walking

Great video , thanks Dave. We had to bail that horseshoe after Dale Head due to fading daylight so went back to little town. Not done the last 4 there.

its a well trodden busy path but does feel quite scary and remote at Dale Head. Fading daylight does put fear into me.. Im competent enough just dont feel 100% at ease yet when the suns going down and Im still up there

aye I made this video thinking of yourself and mossman outdoors / walking wildcamping uk.. that was some effort you guys did to do it in that weather. No chance I could have added those 2 extras, my body would be still up there now haha. cheers for watching :)

That was a monster hike, Dave. What are you putting in your tea?!! I've watched many videos of the Newlands Round and can't remember anyone doing the extra 2. Super hiking day, great views and almost no one about. Regards, Ashley

aye the extra 2 was a bit too much for an enjoyable round but the weather we have had this weekend has been fantastic. Some people even add on Scar crags and causey pike but thankfully ive already done them haha. Cheers for watching :)

Thanks for watching chief, al subscribe to yours back.. I think its possibly my own fault as I don't ask people to during the video but I prefer subscribers to do so because they want to not because I remind them. All the best :)
