I really think had it not been for her parents’ constant presence ie. her dad, they may have been able to over come a lot of those things. That girl could go to the RR without them being there. I loved this show! Then, I read her book. Actually, I got it on Audible and plzz, get the Audible version. None of this was real, she explains all of it. She said how she could feel his hate. He couldn't improvise any scenes. These were characters, and she really wanted people to believe the romance, the fairy tale. Not in a bad way. She is crying while talking about this "show." Painful chapters of how he wouldn't come home or be a no- show when they had plans. She always hated their home. He wouldn't even look at her when the cameras shut off. She wrestles with letting fans down. She feared that people were going hate her if they knew the truth. She was actually miserable and turned to alcohol to cope. It's heartbreaking to hear her tearfully talking about her marriage to Nick. 😢 I love Jessica so much. She bared her soul in that book. I believe they had love in the beginning, but we can now see it turned toxic. She went right from her parent's home to a house with Nick. She didn't get to develop her own independence and have adventures before settling down. She felt terrible that his career didn't take off. He punished her for it, too (my words, not hers). She has her beautiful children, and I hope that she is fulfilled in her marriage to Eric. She's an amazing, introspective, sensitive woman. She laughs at her "pulling a Jessica" when she says something silly and she is always in on the joke. I hope Nick has grown, matured, and he's a father now, and I hope he's also happy and enjoying his life. I still have nostalgia for the show, but I can now view it through a different lens and can easily see how checked out she was, and his behaviors were so unhealthy.

The show was called “Newlyweds” yall … their marriage was new. They were still learning one another. This show was very edited. Don’t presume to know their lives behind these cameras. No they didn’t work out but Nick really loved her he just didn’t spoil her like everybody else in her life did 🤷🏽‍♀️ either way, I loved this show and I loved them two together! One thing for sure they made great music and great tv together!! ❤

Let's not pretend Jessica was perfect. She still had growing up to do. Nick was already 30 years old. She was 22 yrs old. Even at 22 you're not mature enough. To handle real life responsibilities. On top of that. Jessica's parents failed her completely. Never teaching her to pick up after herself. Always having private maids & chefs. I used to watch this show as a teen & glamorize this ridiculous marriage. But now rewatching this as an adult. I understand why it ended up in divorce. How marriages suppose to be like. Forget compatible. It's always about the maturity level. The point here is Nick wanted a housewife. Jessica wasn't one. Both wanted 2 different things out of life. We all know the rest.

I was on the swim team at my local boys and girls club. We had a drill that we swam to the bottom of the deepest part of the pool to retrieve a heavy weight. I would panic so much with my fear of what could be down there, the fear alone allowed me to hold my breath lol 😂 it’s so silly to even think about. I was probably 8-12 years old and I still have this fear of water.
