Fun Facts about the group BabyMetal: 1. Metallica likes to hang with them at festivals 2. The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed their song Gimme Chocolate with them 3. Member of Korn got on stage and performed with them 4. They sang Pain Killer and Breaking the Law with Rob Halford of Judas Priest 5. They had a cameo in Corey Taylor's recent video 6. Dragon Force performed their song Gimme Chocolate with them. 7. Only Asian group to ever hit #1on Billboard's Top Rock Album chart. 8. In an interview Corey Taylor was asked who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal" Next I would suggest Legend of 1997 Head Banger or Karate the official video or Pa Pa Ya feat. F. Hero

Good reaction - and welcome to the BABYMETAL galaxy (wall of text incoming - apologies in advance, but you said you had questions - I'll try not to overdo it). BABYMETAL are Su-metal (now 22) and Moametal (now 21) - the third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues and had not fully recovered so was still unable to perform, so she announced she would be leaving the band and hoped to follow her own long held dreams. Since the start of the 2019 tour Su and Moa have been supported by three dancers (the Avengers) who take turns to dance in the third spot (they do not have any vocals so far). They are Kano, Riho and Momoko. They started in 2010 as a sub-unit of a J-Pop Idol group. As members of that group they would sing songs and dance, the only difference is that instead of singing and dancing to pop music they do it to metal music - and it is metal, not just distorted guitars stuck on pop tunes. At the start they had no budget from their agency, this was the pet project of just one man (a lifelong metalhead with a great love and respect for metal) based entirely around the vocal talents of the lead singer who thought her vocals too powerful for pop and that she could front a metal/pop fusion band. They had to be self-funding (they even borrowed clothes to make their costumes for their first shows with the Idol group - the other sub-units had theirs paid for) as no agency in Japan in 2010 would have invested in metal as there was virtually no market for it at that time, but under the umbrella of the Idol group there was no risk to them if it didn't take off or just failed. So they sang their songs and danced to a backing track with pre-recorded instrumentals and they started to gain a small following. They started to play their own shows, starting off in tiny venues with a capacity of 150-250 people and they played the food hall at a metal festival. As they gained more popularity a little more budget was made available and late in 2012 the live band (the Kami Band) were brought in to play the encores in a couple of shows and they played at a couple of festivals with BABYMETAL. In 2013 Su was 15 and it was time for her to graduate from the Idol group (it had a school theme and was for girls aged 10 to 15) and it was decided that BABYMETAL should be her vehicle and should separate from the Idol group to go with her as an independent band in their own right. In December 2013 she turned 16 and the final step was taken in the transformation of BABYMETAL from sub-unit of the Idol group to independent band. I anticipation of this their backing band, the Kami Band, were phased in gradually from October 2012 playing festivals and encores in some shows. They became the full time backing band early in 2014. If you see the musicians in a video wearing skeleton suits they were miming the instruments to a backing track - they were called 'Babybones' and were there for show (no pretence was made otherwise, everybody knew what they were doing). The Kami Band are the ones in traditional white burial robes and white corpse face paint (more recently in black robes and now wearing masks ... nobody likes the masks, we want the Kami Band to have their faces back). The Kami Band are among Japan's very best session musicians and can play anything. For the 2019 and 2020 US and European tours the Kami Band of the west (American musicians from Galactic Empire on guitars and bass, Anthony Barone on drums) were introduced. The Kami Band members have their own bands and projects, but the respect they have for the girls of BABYMETAL is such that they have said they would only tour with them, not with anybody else. On smaller stages you can see them interacting a lot more with the girls (the drummer and one of the girls have face pulling contests at some points in some songs where she is facing him) and you can see they are all having a great time. BABYMETAL have 3 studio albums and about 50 songs now - and every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre and will mix in or fuse countless other musical styles or genres whenever they feel like it pretty much - they follow nobody else's rules. This is just one of the things that makes them unique, innovative and never boring. Some songs are very heavy, others lean more towards their pop roots and you will find everything in between - eventually. Their name 'BABYMETAL' is not about their age (although when they started in 2010 they were aged 12 and 11 so it probably did play a part too). The name was chosen for two reasons: - to symbolize that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal) - because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is nearly identical to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love a pun): BABYMETAL = ベビメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru) heavy metal = ヘビメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru) I have 'borrowed' this information (again) - "They talked about 'BxMxC' in a recent interview. SU-METAL: That was my first rap experience. For most of my recordings up until now, I would sing “la la laa” to create a sort of vocal line, and then lyric writing began based on that. (Typical J-Pop recording has the session singer record demo vocals once the arrangement, lyrics and melody are finished. Then the group uses that demo as a guide to do their recording. BABYMETAL doesn’t record in the J-pop style, they do it like a rockband.) SU-METAL: But it was different for this track, they had a backing track and lyrics, and then told me to try rapping. So at first I was still trying to figure it out. In hiphop they call it…it was like…ah, I forget! MOAMETAL: Wasn’t it…f-…fall? SU-METAL: Uh…what was it… KOBAMETAL (who happened to be there): Flow? SU-METAL: Flow! (laughs) To get a feel for the flow, I made a lot of different attempts to figure out what would be good. Like how to descend and ascend in pitch, and which timing would be the best to try the pitch changes. Even for the same phrase I’d try going a little ahead of the beat or a little bit behind it, while keeping the whole track’s balance in mind." I will just add 'BxMxC' hits you like a train in the live performances and, as always, Su-metal's vocals are so much better live too.

Yeah, the point people were making when they said that Babymetal was their genre is that they do whatever they want. Kawaii-metal was a term that was invented to describe them. I think saying that kawaii means cute sells it a little short. It means a lot more than that. It's a cultural revolution in Japan.

Oh, they are amazing band.. Actually they are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. Girls were like 11-12 years old at the beginning. They released 3 studio albums: Babymetal (2014), Metal Resistance (2016) and Metal Galaxy (2019) and lot of live DVD/Blu-ray from their shows. If you will continue to react to them, try live performances.. They have one of the most epic production and great stage presence and crowd interaction. Their live band that supports them on every concert is something amazing too. Little teaser: bass player uses 6-strings bass guitar! Someone else will definitely give you more detailed information about BM in few next minutes / hours. Tip for next week reaction: Bring Me The Horizon - Kingslayer ft. BABYMETAL (release date 30.11.)

⚡ 💕 / 🕶️ 🎤 🍗 BABYMETAL don't usually discuss who contributed to the studio versions, but the musician listed in BABYMETAL credits as TAKEMETAL (Takeru Youda) did growls on the second album. He also co-wrote the music for 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' on the first record. Not sure about most of the growls on third and most recent album, 'Metal Galaxy'. The album version of 'Distortion' has guest artist Alissa White-Gluz doing the growls on that song. She's not on the earlier music video version though. I've been a fan since 2014, so it's super weird to see 'BxMxC' be someone's introduction to the group. : ) Any jumping on point is good though. Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) doesn't usually have that rising lilt at the end of her lines. That was something she added just for this song. She doesn't usually rap, so she did a lot of experimenting on this one. Folks will tell you that BABYMETAL are at their best in live performances, and that's true. I'm still going to recommend the official music video for 'Karate' though: kzbin.info/www/bejne/faenZHZ-dplrpqM It was the featured single off their second album.

The moment he goes on Google and discover about them, you can see his mind exploding hahahaha. This song is even havier live and she sings without the auto-tune and sounds even better. Also, ESP has a BABYMETAL 9 strings guitar that apparently was used for the studio version of this song (you can even see the guitar on the video). You should check some of their live performaces, their big arena concerts have crazy production, and their crowd is insane even on smaller concerts, and they sing and dance all live, no lip-sync for the singer, and with a S tier band playing the instruments for them, perhaps you would like to check the song Headbanger during their first arena concert back at 2013, it hit's hard and they make an already wild crowd go even wilder, here is a link for that performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3bWgJSDl7N5rdk Thier songs are very diverse, they play many metal genres and mix with many other genres.

Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance. This song is VERY different from their other songs because of the rapping, BUT every song is very different from the other songs anyways! Here is a little bit of info...In 2019, BABYMETAL became the first Asian artists to hit #1 on BILLBOARD's Top Rock Albums chart with their latest album, "Metal Galaxy". BABYMETAL have performed with, toured, or opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), Metallica, Korn, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, and Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), to name a few of many. BABYMETAL has been around for TEN years and have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. Plus the 20+ awards they have been given. They have 50+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.

BABYMETAL 101 Founded 2010 and produced by Key “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency. Babymetal name comes from the birth of a new style of metal fusing j-pop with metal creating what they call Kawaii Metal (Cute-Metal). The group currently consists of Suzuka Nakamoto aka “Su-Metal” (22 years old) sometimes referred to as Vocal and Dance, and Moa Kikuchi aka Moa-Metal (21 years old) sometimes referred to as Scream and Dance. With a rotating trio of girls filling the third slot, in a 3-member formation. These girls are known as Avengers and are Kano Fujihara (16 years old), Riho Sayashi (21 years old), and Momoko Okazaki (17 years old). They are supported by a rotating selection of talented backing musicians known as the Kami Band (Kami is usually poorly translated as gods, but in truth it more closely means awe inspiring spirit, entity, or object) It is why they are dressed in white to look like ghosts or spirits, though Kami being used as God(s) is so common in translation the white outfits get lost. Past Formations. Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012) From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka Yui-Metal (Age 10). First starting out as the Heavy Music Club as a subunit within the Developmental Idol Group created by Amuse in 2010 known as Sakura Gakuin. Sakura Gakuin is group that introduces girls between the ages of 10-15 to music, dance, modeling, and acting through Japanese Pop idol music and culture. Given a school theme, all three would be a part of Sakura Gakuin until their graduation from it in the same school year they would graduate from Japanese middle school or 15 years old. Suzuka graduated in March 2013, and Moa and Yui in March of 2015. Sakura Gakuin is a fantastic group with great kawaii jpop songs in their own right. During this time there was no lore, and the girl’s costumes were more punkish in nature which they helped create. They also didn’t perform with live music, using a backing track or the “Skeleton band” people pretending to play music behind them. Music Video of this Era Doki Doki Morning Iine (Pronounced EE-NAH spelled i i n e) Headbangya Babymetal Era (2012-2017) Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time. The Lore is complex and involves a battle against other evil idol corporations, gaining powers running a resistance group, all at the direction of a mythical deity known as the fox god, against an all power enemy known as Akiba. The first Legend show I was the Kami Bands introduction to the end, but it also had the Skeleton Band which is seen in the wildly popular Gimmie Chocolate Music Video. This was followed by Legend D, and then Legend Z, in which it was learned that Babymetal would continue as its own entity after Suzuka’s graduation from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2013. Slowly over 2013 the Skeleton Band would be phased out of all live shows, as Babymetal came into their own. Babymetal as it is most commonly known as with Su-Metal, Moa-Meta, and Yui-Metal, Kami Band, and a somewhat understandable lore is what consisted for the majority of it’s existence. Also established beyond the 3 member formation, they had 2 other set ups, one was what fans called Su-Solos, and it would just be Su on stage with the Kami band, performing a solo, and the other is known as Black Babymetal by the band themselves, which consisted of just Moa and Yui. Music Videos of this Era Gimmie Chocolate Megitsune Rondo of Nightmare - With mischief of the Gods Intro (Su Solo and a great expedition of the Kami Band) Road of Resistance Live in Japan (Co-written by Dragonforce) Iijime, Dame, Zettai Live at Sonisphere (No More Bullying Forever) Karate The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui. Changes they would not tell fans and all throughout 2018 communicate extraordinarily little causing lots of pain for all involved fan and performer. This era is noted by their strange armor like costumes, sometimes referred to as Elf Armor. To make the poor communication, and Yui’s absence wasn’t bad enough, one of the more regular Kami band members, Mikio Fujioka passed away after falling off a balcony in late December 2017 while star gazing. A beloved and incredibly talented musician lost leaving behind his wife and only child. In September 2018 Yui would formally resign from Babymetal, stating her unspecified health and wishing to move on. Babymetal themselves announced that the group will move on focusing on Suzuka and Moa. (Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand) In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history. Music Videos of this Era (These MVs do not feature the members in them at all) Distortion Starlight Metal Galaxy Era The current set up was first introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3 member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH. Music Videos of this Era Pa Pa Ya Elevator Girl Shanti Shanti Da Da Dance (Avenger confusion) Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal. For the Music Videos, Pa Pa Ya, Elevator Girl, and Shanti Shanti Shanti, it is Kano Fujihara, who was just 14 years old at the time. Da Da Dance is a compilation of Momoko and Riho and a splicing of 2 different shows. In most fan cam videos of the American and European tour it would be either Riho or Momoko, as they toured with Babymetal in 2019. Kano had responsibilities with Sakura Gakuin as its president, a position Suzuka and Moa both held in Sakura Gakuin, and she’s never flown on a plane before. Some fans for 2019 did throw a stupid temper tantrum over the use of new Kami Band members who are from the west now known as the West Coast Kami Band, but like how the girls won over many, so did they and the payoff with the Legend Metal Galaxy concert was well worth it. COVID Era COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020. Forced to keep it rather tame something very unlike Babymetal as even in their failures like the entire 2018 tour they do it septically. The question for many fans is what of the Avengers, since COVID, Avenger Riho Sayashi has signed with a new agency and has move on to other projects, including starting a fan club, which appears to rule her out of ever being an Avenger again. Kano Fujihara has graduated from Sakura Gakuin on August 30, 2020, a near 4 month delay. However, she and fellow Sakura Gakuin graduates Soyoka Yoshida, Tsugumi Aritomo, and Momoe Mori in the formation of @onefive. Which leaves Momoko Okazaki as last standing Avenger with no new commitments. However, Kano was technically in Sakura Gakuin, @onefive, and Babymetal all at the same time for almost a year so it is possible she will still be an Avenger. Music Videos of this Era BxMxC (First music video that isn’t footage from a show featuring Su and Moa since Karate in 2015)

The band's name is a combination of "baby" (ベビー, bebī) and "heavy metal" (ヘビーメタル, hebī metaru); Heavy metal: ヘビメタ (romaji transcription: hebimetaru) to Babymetal: ベビメタ (romaji transcription: bebimetaru). Yeah Japanese like puns. The band defines its style as a new genre called "kawaii metal" and clarifies that it is "a mix of J-pop idol and heavy metal". The band was formed in 2010, with the original lineup of Nakamoto Suzuka aka Su Metal (Vocal and Dance) (DOB Dec 20, 1997), Kikuchi Moa aka Moa Metal (Scream and Dance) (DOB July 4, 1999), and Mizuno Yui aka "Yui Metal" (Scream and Dance) (DOB Jun 20, 1999), with the concept of creating a fusion of heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. Originally a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin which also was formed at the same year, Babymetal became an independent act in 2013. The band is produced by Kobayashi Key aka "Kobametal" from the Amuse talent agency. Original concept of the band was to introduced the new generation of audience to metal music especially females. On October 19, 2018, Babymetal announced that Yui Metal had decided to leave the band due to undisclosed poor health, following her absence from live performances since December 2017. Gimme Chocolate went viral around Feb and Mar of 2014, with support of BabyMetal fans the organizer booked them for a smaller stage at Sonisphere 2014 (UK). Then online flame war ensued arguing if they are worthy to be there. The flame war grew so intense plus their sold out for The Forum, London concert tickets (7 July 2014), that the organizer bump BabyMetal to main stage by May. This is a stage where people throw bottle of piss towards bands they don't like. So when BabyMetal went on stage, they are definitely worried. After this performance, UK became their biggest market in Europe. BABYMETAL - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL)

Excellent. BABYMETAL & the KAMI Band are as interesting & more entertaining than probably any group I've ever encountered in 50+ years of experiencing rock, metal, & most other genres of music & performance. And unless stated as such by one of BABYMETAL'S principal architects, I don't believe BMC was meant to be a dig, or satirical in any way towards Rap. This is because BABYMETAL has always held a core philosophy of showing respect & gratitude in their approach & subsequent fusions with different sub-genres of music, ethnicities &/or cultures. Just my opinion. Arigatou! 🦊✌

Apparently those little asian girls.. do the screams.. at least thats what the BabyMetal KZbin channel gives them credit for. Not the lead singer, but the dancer Moa-Metal and Yu-Metal did their own screams.. im sure they edit it but yeah

How can, at this time i'm writing, people put 196 thumbs up to a jerk who says Su and Moa did shit in front a blue screen???

Also to clarify twitch comment, I was listening to audio in the background and I didn't understand what I was hearing 😂. Japan electronica meets metal is mind blowing. Listening again, I still have no idea what I'm hearing, like do I love it or hate it, I don't know 🤣

Suzuka's voice is very tuned "up" here, something I don't like too much. There are luckily some live performances where one can hear and enjoy her original voice.

if you're going to do more babymetal reactions, you should aim more towards live performances rather than music videos. the magic really comes from seeing them live. :)

Headbanger legend 97 Sis anger Gj Tales of the destinies Catch me if you can Megitsune Those are just some of the song you should react to I would say Babymetal death legend 97 but I would look at other videos first when of if you do there’s a translation to the opening in the description it will sort of explain what happens on stage

Wait till you see BXMXC performed live. IT's 1000 times better. Babymetal is all about live performance.

I would love to know what "eee" means. She said it a lot before the beat dropped.
@TheLeomarti4 жыл бұрын
Do you have a timecode so we can listen again ? Because she doesn't say "eee" except maybe the sound ending her lines
@snlarini994 жыл бұрын
@@TheLeomarti haha. Okay she says wanna be in English lol. I was listening, not reading the video. 3:30 onwards, that section. Like you say the last word. 4:20 onwards also as examples. Usually when her voice goes high, it's harder to understand. Not that I know any Japanese lol
@TheLeomarti4 жыл бұрын
@@snlarini99 you got it ! She says “wanna be” and then “want some beat” and the “ee” sound is just the last letter of each word with a strong effect on her voice
@snlarini994 жыл бұрын
@@TheLeomarti Ahh haha. Thank you anyway! I assumed it was all Japanese so my brain ignored the English bit 🤣
@TheLeomarti4 жыл бұрын
@@snlarini99 You're welcome ! There are actually quite a lot of English words randomly thrown here and there in their songs, but it's not easy to decipher lmao, only when it's an actual English song we know to pay attention xD

Some advice about BABYMETAL reactions: tl;dr: Don't use compilations for BABYMETAL, we have a better solution. Please don't rely solely on videos that are on KZbin (mainly compilations); they're not meant to be used for reactions as the mix of concerts and generally bad editing can make it confusing for those new to BABYMETAL. Also, you won't get the full BABYMETAL experience with these. Some people think they are safer for reactions, but they're not. They may get past the bot initially, but you still stand the chance of your video being blocked later and the possibility of having copyright strikes. Some fans made a selection of "best" performances for each song; I would suggest using it for future BABYMETAL reactions. Here is the link : docs.google.com/document/d/1DqPsavocgGvCyZfUHvrkgJ5KZMaMkmMgjy2UxNNG96E/edit# You should note though, that your video will almost definitely be blocked if these are included in your video and that you will need to do what we call "link & sync". It's very easy and made easier with the help of Reactor Hub, a tool made for helping avoid blocks etc. We made a short tutorial on how to use it : drive.google.com/open?id=1X6hN2BdyKzFmVN9XMEo2M89hsKY0B-bnnHRVVMNY13w Using that you are safe from blocked videos and even future copyright strikes, since no copyright material is included in your video :). There is even a discord for Reactor Hub if you need any help. I'm hoping you will have fun with BABYMETAL in future reactions :).

Actually the dirty little secret of the band is that the supposed "girls" are really transvestites. The first clue should have been their early cover of Aerosmith's Dude Looks Like a Lady... Just kidding of course, but I did enjoy your reaction. I encourage you to seek out their whole catalogue, particularly their live performances. You'll find yourself thoroughly lost in the foxhole, as we call it :-)

You don’t get an entire wave of music named after you by just doing random shit on a green screen. Everything they do is crafted by the producers that kicked absolute ass. Background is often done by rotating musicians called the Kami band. Welcome to the Foxhole.

I'm trying so hard not to explain why you are wrong. Just know that you are in fact completely wrong. Its almost ironic, the elitists who doubted them now love them and some older fans complain.... Once again BABYMETAL is stirring the pot. As they always have.
