I believe electric outboards are the future. Love the content that you guys create. Videos like this help ease the harsh receptions people give electric motors. Can’t wait for a 15 and 20hp equivalent to be affordable!

FYI - a Secret Santa sale just started and the $850 price is back as of 12/11. 0:49 There's a package to add the 30AH battery, the charger, and an extension cable for the battery for an additional $725 - all in $1,575 - I just ordered it!

I think a lot of people don't even realize how much cheaper and better the latest LiFePo4 batteries are compared to just a year ago!

I really wish they had the option to use 48v...I think 48v @1500-1600W would be perfect. I have a 48v 100Ah battery setup and will not buy more batteries. I know Newport is coming out with the NT600 (48v) 3kW motor next year and I might pick that up. I just think it'd be nice to have an updated NT300 48v around 1.5kW...what do you think?
@TinyBoatNation15 күн бұрын
If I were you, I would just go with an EPropulsion Spirit 1.0 for 48v. Newport is likely not going to change because it could generate the same kind of power with less volts and 36volt applications are easier to find there’s no reason for them to modify it.
@DaMerk514 күн бұрын
@@TinyBoatNation I dunno...I feel like 48v is much more likely to have a higher adoption rate than 36v as 24v is very common and cheaper so it's very easy to get 2x 24v batteries...36v kinda seems like the odd one out. They could release a NT300 plus (or whatever they'd call it) and bump up the power and efficiency a bit. Don't know if it's possible for the electronics to support both 36 and 48v but that'd be great if possible. Epropulsion is not an option for me as it's far too expensive, basically double the price

Looks like a decent motor. Li-time has a 36v 55Ah battery on the jungle site for $350 right now. You can buy 2 for less than one Newport 40ah.
@TinyBoatNation19 күн бұрын
Yes, but you have to have a way to monitor the life, or you're taking a risk. If the Li-time has bluetooth then I'd go for it.
@andrewt920418 күн бұрын
@TinyBoatNation I don't think the 55's do, but the 100ah does. Maybe not a big deal if you're never going far. Although I'd rather have a separate permanent meter anyway I think, rather than having to connect with your phone all the time. Unfortunately LFP chemistry makes it tough to just use voltage as a gauge.

After this re-review do you think it’s better e propulsion ? I believe New Ports is definitely cheaper.
@TinyBoatNation18 күн бұрын
It’s not better, but it’s very competitive. It matters on what features you desire. EP has some of the smaller things down better.

O problema é autonomia e tempo de recarga. Para aumentar autonomia, aumenta o peso. Em fim, fica-se mais tempo navegando que pescando.

beginning to think these will be the best Kicker motors for larger boats. But not sure how many AH will be needed to troll for say. 2 or 4 hours etc.. 4 hours realistically should be the minimum time to push a boat between 1 and 3mph.

100ah at 60% throttle would do it

This 3 hp outboard is the bomb 💣 being able to use any 36v battery is a game changer. I loved using the 6hp hangkai 2 stoke on the ns130 till it just decided to stop working lol 😂 some say it is the spark plug or this or that, you don't need to deal with any of that with the electric outboard

2000 for the boat and for half the price of the boat cost just for the battery is a over 900 hundred ..question is the battery not included
@TinyBoatNation19 күн бұрын
You do have to order the battery separate, but it’s a pretty good price for all of it

I just for giggles looked up what a Nissan Leaf 1st year on marketplace. $1,200 they go 50 miles on a warm day. Bet you could talk them down. My point.. I wouldn’t buy the first 5 years of anything. They will catch on but batteries need to come a long way first.
