@@nickm8874 I agree on both points. Lee hammed it up something rotten in his attempt to be 'dramatic'. In fact, to go one further, I'd say Christopher Lee as an actor overall was hugely overrated. He always played the same kind of roles. Roles that were suited to his extremely limited range, similar to the likes of Schwarzenegger and Keanu Reeves today. Peter Cushing, on the other hand, was a fantastically talented actor, who stayed incredibly humble throughout his life. Unlike Lee.

I’d like to think that anakin was so weird around Padme in this episode was because he never had a whole lot of practice when it came down to socializing with other people and also being around the Jedi who believe falling in love was forbidden. Another detail about Jango: He loses one of his Westar-34 pistols in the duel with Obi-Wan on Kamino. This is one of the reasons such a feared bounty hunter known for killing scores of jedi went down so easily: he often used both pistols to take down jedi by not only having a doubled rate of fire but by being able to aim at two different parts of a jedi at the same time.

In the RotS novelization, Dooku discusses a plan with Palpatine of him killing Obi-Wan and letting Anakin capture him, to which Dooku responds by asking whether then can spare Obi-Wan instead, as Obi-Wan was Qui-Gon's padawan, he's basically Dooku's grandson. I actually liked this movie. It moved the story forward, though strained at times, and filled in the gaps of how the clone wars started. I think the clone wars cartoon series really helped develop the characters of Anakin, Kenobi, Ahsoka, Palpatine, Maul, the bounty hunters and the underworld, There was so much time and effort spent by Filoni and Lucas to develop the characters over a three year period (in the Star Wars universe). Now, take the events of The Force Awakens to the Last Jedi and you can see some really poor character development in the span of what three days? A nobody like Rey becomes a padawan to knight to master in the span of less than a week! That is why even a movie such as Episode II is so much better than Episode VIII. It takes time to develop characters that you care for. I could care less if Rey and Kylo both die in the Rise of Skywalker.

Remember in Empire Strikes Back, Luke had to jump into the swamp to save R2? How pissed would Luke have been to find out he can fly?

I have mixed feelings on the dialogue. It’s hilariously stilted, but it spawned so many memes.

Actually you can see R2-D2 go down stairs in episode 4 when they first approach the Falcon for the first time

Its funny how I literally watched all the Star Wars movies a month or two ago and yet I completely forgot Ki-Adi-Mundi had dialogue in AOTC.

@8:25, R2 can in fact go down stairs, it shows him doing such when Anakin and Padme leave the shuttle on Coruscant before they board the starliner to Naboo.

17:11 I can't believe Eric basically said that Attack of the Clones is worse than The Last Jedi. As much as I can understand why he said that, why the hell is that what he thinks when ranking the films? Not to argue with his opinion, but I'd honestly rank Episode II at number 6 on my list of 9 (I have never seen any of the spin off films). And then all the sequels take up 7-9.

I'm shocked he didn't go into why the Imperial Royal Guard are standing in the background of Palpatine's office when Padme first arrives. Even with a room full of Jedi he was able to control what they could perceive.

The depressing thing about the clones, is how that is part of a long term plan to sorround each Jedi with a large number of armed traitors, which kill them (almost) all upon a simple command issued by Palpatine. Also, information about Kamino, where the clones are generated, is minimal in the film itself, including the fact that Kaminoans have eyesight in the UV spectrum. Not everybody buy additional books about the backgrounds of the film, the majority of people just watch the movie, and that's it.

You forgot one reference In the battle between Anakin and Obi Wan vs Count Dooku, Count Dooku is going to strike down Obi wan and Anakin goes and defends Obi wan, just like how in episode 6 he defended Luke's attack against the emperor

You're right about the whole Padme-Anakin romance. It was disturbing. Upon further reflection, I like II better than I originally thought I did. It continued the Machiavellian, cloak and dagger theme established in I. It's an interesting departure from the original trilogy. I love IV-VI, but I'm glad Lucas didn't just reheat them. I especially liked Dooku. You couldn't tell until the end whose side he was on. He told Obi-Wan the whole truth about Sidious, without revealing his part in the whole play. I liked how Dooku hinted that he (and Obi-Wan) could take out the Emperor. It seems all Sith apprentices are just biding their time until they can whack the Master. You talked about Dooku's frustration with the Jedi and his eventual turning to the Dark Side. I wish we could have seen more of that backstory in the movie, though. I would've liked to see more of Dooku and of Maul in I. That, and far less, if any of Ass Clown Binks...

Maybe the clones of Jango Fett aren't the only ones out there, or the only ones that will attack. Maybe Palpatine's mind was preserved technologically, kind of like Arnum Zola, and will be placed in a clone body in The Rise of Skywalker. My least favorite is Attack of the Clones, with The Phantom Menace coming in second to last.

You can say what you want about the prequels, but they were modern masterpieces compared to the sequels. I honestly liked them when they came out. And that’s coming from a fan since 1981.
