Another J J Abrams masterclass in coherent screenwriting is one way of putting it, another would be making it up in response to fan reactions when Poe was supposed to die in the crash. 21:33 It's truly ridiculous that Rey would know how to use the Jedi mind trick on the stormtrooper, she had no training or very sparse knowledge of the Force, and the mind trick was never brought up to her so she would never know that such a trick would exist. It's amazing how she requires no training, and she always successfully uses the Force but all the Jedi before her have went through rigorous training and took years to master. Also, many people have heard the legends and stories, whether Force sensitive or not, that doesn't mean they know how to wield the Force automatically. All of this happens just because Rey is written to be perfect and girl boss her way through everything and that's just in TFA and it continues through the next 2 movies and gets more ridiculous and stupid.

You mean like how Luke force pulls his lightsaber in the opening Episode V despite him never witnessing or being told on screen that the force can levitate objects?
@nray0073Ай бұрын
It’s more believable because Obi Wan explains the mental state you have to be in when using the Force and we see Luke training with Obi Wan later on aboard the Millenium Falcon. Obi Wan also guides him during the assault on the Death Star to reach out and use the Force and trust it. He also tells Luke the Force will be with him always. And since time has passed then at the beginning of Empire Strikes back, it’s probably a good guess that Luke has communicated with Obi Wan and possibly shared some further knowledge of the capabilities of the Force. And a Force pull would be pretty basic compared to a Jedi mind trick I feel (Rey also does this at the end battle in TFA without knowledge of the pull as well)

I think that would have made some of it go over better. The timeline on The Falcon is that they lost it in 31 ABY and found it in 34 ABY. The thing is that the movie makes it seem like it's been SO LONG. The same is true of Luke's exile. It was actually only like 5 years, but it feels like it's been since the OT came out. You forgot to answer the most important question of them all which if failed to answer reveals how out-of-their-butt was all the non-sense presented in this first film by Disney. What the F*** is AN AWAKENING? And underlying to that of course: Why should we care about what happens after Return Of The Jedi, if the story was already finished?
@namikstudios2 ай бұрын
Awakening as in the force inside Rey was awakened. And George Lucas himself had planned for the story to continue after Return of the Jedi. It was Lucas who came up with the idea that Luke would go into self imposed exile, just as Yoda had done before him, and would then later train a female teenager, as he did with Rey.
@abadalfa2 ай бұрын
@@namikstudios The force does not awaken inside people, the force is everywhere and it doesn't go to sleep. You're in the the wrong franchise, it's not X-Men and the force is not a mutant gene. George Lucas' idea for Luke was completely different, he looked for a way of blinding Luke so he can be nerfed for the plot, and that was isolation inside a temple. It had nothing to do with losing hope or becoming a grumpy man. And no, he only suggested ideas for sequels with the prospect of selling the company to make a more attractive bundle for buyers. Since 1991 to 2011 he always said he only needed the 6 movies to tell his story, he did and didn't change his mind. In 2019 he repeated that only the first 6 are his philosophy.

@@abadalfa awakened as in she became awake to the existence of the force inside herself. It's really not that hard to understand the meaning behind the title. Lucas has changed his position multiple times in relation to the sequels and even the prequels before them. That was mostly because he didn't know if he had it in him to commit to another three or six movies, something that is truly a massive undertaking that requires about a decade to complete. The prequels took him over a decade - he started writing Phantom in 1994 while Revenge wasn't released until 2005. Luke going into exile after failing, just as Yoda did, was certainly Lucas' idea, as was the training of a young female padawan later on. They were not Disney's ideas.
