The first 1:45 is the grand opening of WEWS studios at Euclid and East 30th Street in Cleveland in 1957. Station celebrities shown include "Captain Penny" (Ron Penfound), Paige Palmer, Ken Coleman and Browns quarterback Otto Graham, "Texas Jim" Breslin, and Dorothy Fuldheim. WEWS still uses the studios today. Before 1957, WEWS studios were previously located on East 13th Street. The rest of the film, including the portion in color, is from a later time. Included in this portion is a banquet in which you can see Gene Carroll and Cleveland Press publisher Louis Seltzer.
