I don't normally watch bicycling news videos. But I enjoyed this very much. What I don't have patience for are two guys sitting and babbling back and forth, turning a five minute segment into twenty minutes. Don't have time for that. Keep up the great work.

@@EMTBReview Yeah. I have one of their first power meters that I got as a product tester and it is going strong. I was also a beta tester for their Dash M200 head unit and even got an email about a month ago about a new version of the Link software. Never heard anything else. Gonna miss that company. It also sucks that they didn't seem to allow liquidation of inventory. Maybe that will happen in the settlement.

I think your Evaluation of the USA economy going from a “Want” to a “Need” is spot on. Let’s face reality cycling in USA is for hobbyists and a small fraction of athletes. As an RN that works in tech I can understand why Garmin is doing well. We have “Wellness Programs” that use Garmin devices and this sector of Healthcare in America is emerging #nurses2tech

I’d love to go to Sea Otter, but it’s held at the worst possible time. It’s spring, when everybody is getting back into cycling (unless you’re in SoCal, AZ) after winter. Service center is swamped and new bike sales are hot and heavy. Wasn’t InterBike held in like September or October?

"Inch of rain in Norcal" - translates to 5" of snow in 4k sierras 😞 Good job Francis. - E-bike sales as a percentage of revenue for companies doing it right is (sometimes) higher than what even Giant is reporting. Many big names are all calling for that hockey stick soon. SO many cool developments.

As someone else already noted, only the top end, super light build comes in 140/130 travel; the rest of the models are 150/140. I put a 160 fork on mine. Paired the the Fox X2, I find that the bike punches way above what the numbers would indicate. Last week I rode the chunkiest downhill track in my area (a blown out moto trail), and I was very impressed with how well the suspension soaked up the square edged hits. It felt more composed than my regular enduro bike (Transition Patrol, which is 160/160). As for the Bosch SX, yes you have to spin to win, but the power arrives when you do. The other emtb riders that I ride with all average over 90 rpm’s when pedaling, so I feel like Francis sells the SX’s capabilities short. I’m continually blown away by how powerful this little motor is. No, it’s not as powerful and torquey as my Rocky Powerplay, but I didn’t expect it to be. Head to head, maybe the Rise outworks the Fluid, but I am very impressed by the SX and I highly recommend it.

Here's an opinion from a 43 year old casual biker guy. The price of e-bikes are competitive enough right now that I feel they will take over the mid-level segment. A traditional bike in the $2500 or less bracket still makes sense, but there are some really decent e-bikes starting at $3,000, and some really good ones in the $4-5,000 range.
@EMTBReview
@EMTBReview Ай бұрын
Yes, definitely agreed. One key problem with ebikes moving forward is it doesn't make sense to sell $10k-$15k ebikes, like some companies have gotten used to. That kind of pricing is done to save the last 3 lbs. of weight, making everything out of carbon fiber and exotic materials. For ebikes, the last 3 lbs. doesn't really matter. Since they're 50 lbs anyway!! We'll see what happens as consumers realize carbon, xtr, and XX1 don't really help emtbs so much to justify they price.

@@EMTBReview I think most people interested in emtb's will go over to the lighter emtb's as technology gets better and more affordable. Bikes like the Orbea RIse, both the previous version and the brand new version, are an excellent example. I don't want a huge, heavy ebike, but i also want a good power reserve, and every generation is getting better at those goals.

The cycle industry is just not getting it🤔 getting away with charging ££££££ too much for there product, when you pay as much or more for an ebike over a motorcycle.....and for what you get! its crazy. Oh and yes, whats a ebike worth second hand 🤔 next to nothing. No shop wants a trade in of an old ebike really, take my 2018 canyon Spectral On £4500 new back in the day, 6yrs old now and worth what? Not very much at all. Plus you never stop spending silly money on components...ie chain, cassette, bearings, suspension service etc etc the list goes on.....none of the above gets cheaper on an older emtb. Yes its sounds like I'm bitching but I'm just telling it as I see it. After my little rant, l'm still out there riding my bike and loving it.
