Actually there is a good chance it won't as Nintendo took measures years ago during his first presidency. Tarrifs mainly are for goods from China (previously a 60% tarrif and 20% for other places). Nintendo has manufacturing plants in Indonesia and other places. Also, during his first administration; certain goods had immunity towards tarrifs and Video game electronics were one of them. Now, this is based from his first term, so it could change, but he has been pretty consistent about China specifically because of just how much "US" companies produce from there, but let's wait and see.

This is a great video. My life is completely centered around video games and me not being able to play them will probably be the worst part of my life. Nintendo has a factory in Taiwan. Trump never said he would tax a minimum of 60 per cent to anywhere other than China. The rest of the tariffs will be 10% which is still pretty bad but nothing compared to what you were talking about

A lot of this is assuming nobody bothers to move from China. Apple, for instance, has manufacturing contracts in India to supplement their iphone supply from China. Foxconn also has factories in more than just China. I think there is a high likelihood to go to a neighboring low-cost country that is less hostile to the US, and thus a much smaller tarrif.

The time it would take to locate a good country to manufacture goods in, strike a deal with that country, find or build adequate facilities there, and hire enough workers could easily take most of Trump’s presidency. The next president is liable to strike down the tariffs, so foreign countries might not be inclined to up and move their stuff to a new country just to appease one of very many countries in the world.

I don't think that's how it works. You still need to import and export. Especially parts. Parts are being made in China or in Japan or other parts of the world. The Switch is not manufactured in the US. Maybe a portion of it at most. Tariffs are taxes on imports, so it would still inflate prices.

This is a bargaining chip for renegociations. I stay away from ENG manga as it is poor quality. I want quality hoods, but the USA isn't making stuff us Americans want in terms of entertainment. Like I refuse to support the USA division of a company heavily due to their politics. I am not keen on how some us importers now must pay more because of this. The tariff situation is a way to force another country's company and workers to be here. I want more stuff to be produced here. It has to be stuff that I like. US Dollars) During that time period, only in 2022 from around Sep. to Nov. was the US Dollar worth more than the Euro.
