I follow lots of Ukraine focused channels. Several have Ukraine's capital city in their titles. Kyiv Post, Kyiv Independent, Olga from Kyiv etc. Tanya has several videos where Kyiv is in the title or video description. I have watched videos where Ukrainians explain why they prefer to spell it Kyiv instead of the way you spelled it. They don't seem to take offense but it does seem to hurt a little when we spell it the russian way. But I'll defer to Tanya and other Ukrainians. I could list a hundred. Slava Ukraini !!

Hey tanya. Thanks for another interesting video. I personally support Ukraine's most recent incursion into Russia because I heard that the Ukrainian strategy or at least one Ukrainian strategy is to create more problems inside of Russia so that the Russian military has to redeploy some of its resources back inside of russia. Every soldier who is fighting within Russia is a soldier that the Russian government cannot send to fight in ukraine. I was happy to hear this morning that Moore Western countries are reducing their restrictions on how their weapons can be used buy Ukrainian troops. In a weird way Ukraine's incursion into Russia is encouraging European allies to feel less worried about Russia escalating its war.

What will have to change now: Russia has not kept significant forces along the border so far, because the Russians believed that a "weak West" would allow the Ukrainians to attack their ethnic territory. Ukraine did not have that luxury. This allowed the Russians to concentrate all their valuable forces on Donbas. That is over now. Of course, Russia will not take the assault battalions from Donbas, it does not work that way. Nevertheless, the Russians will have to direct their reserves to the border.

Lovely memories of Kiev in this video, (I was there in 2018). It looks so normal, even though I know it isn't. It was horrifying seeing it deserted just after the escalation started. As for Kursk, we were all pretty confused, including the pundits. For about 24 hours. Maybe 48. Now it looks like crazy genius. We STILL have no idea what they're doing and it STILL looks like crazy genius. It certainly does nothing to help the stability of the Putin regime.

It would be funny if you replicated what Russia did in Crimea, held an election in Kursk and voted on a referendum to make it part of Ukraine rather than Russia.
@philipreed387Ай бұрын
But in order to do that they’d actually have to vote like the did in Crimea with international observers. That’s clearly not going to happen in Kursk😂🤣😂
@iplatotle6600Ай бұрын
@@philipreed387 Putin invited in observers he already knew were in his corner. They were denounced by the free world for being Putin apologists from the outset. So I think it would be far easier for Zelensky to find international observers he knows will back him than it was for Putin. He could have them there in a day. Likewise, Russia sent soldiers door to door collecting ballots cast while they observed how nervous residents voted. No secret ballots allowed with that method. I don't see why heavily armed Ukrainian troops couldn't intimidate Russians in much the same way into voting to become part of Ukraine. To further replicate what Russia did, they could drive out young Russians and offer remaining elderly folk pensions that would pay a hundred bucks or so more than the small amounts they're getting now. Maybe offer them a hospital, too. There are many ways to buy off a people. And, finally, Russian soldiers planted in the Crimean region were permitted to vote, too. Deluge newly conquered Russian lands with Ukrainians to help slant the vote their way. Offer them free homes left behind as an incentive to move there. I highly recommend running a KZbin search 'Vice News 2014 Crimea.' They did an excellent job reporting directly from Crimea during Russia's takeover. You could watch hundreds of hours of their coverage from there if you like, from the time Russia's Little Green Men arrived, on. . .

Russia : Okay, I admit it. Maybe I wasn't as nice as I should have been. But, Ukraine, do you really want to invade me?
