9:15 Grades are predictive of your performance only for your first 2 years out of school 21:20 Going to a fancy university is a _signalling good._ 21:58 If you're going to study anything, study the _hard sciences_ - study computer science, study physics, study chemistry, study math - because the skill set you get from that is translatable in any industry (problem solving).

Love how the company’s culture cares for true leadership. True leadership is not about how many clubs you presided or whether you were a honor student. True leadership is when you are able to realize a problem and are able to step in and say , “ I will help you take care of it” and step out when there is no need for your leadership. Which proves that you are not after the power that comes with leadership. Rather , it proves that you like solving problems. I am So glad a company like google is able to realize that value. Humbled!

Again, the study of earnings of college vs non-college people does not control for general cognitive ability or motivation/drive. The point is, it's correlation but we are not sure how much is causation.

Develop the skills as much as you could, because I think there is no limit there, they need people who could solve problems, who has been a leader somewhere, coding skills, yeah, that's the kind of knowledege background you need to get into google, I think.
