That's the most Wellington video ever - craft beer, windy roads, electric motorbikes. I've test ridden one. If I didn't have the Light Bee and a Stark on order then I'd be very tempted. They are amazingly quiet and the build quality is streets ahead.

I love the design of those little things! Unfortunately, I don't see them succesfully competing in Europe with all the speed pedelecs (e-bikes with assistance up to 45 km/h). Those things can avoid traffic by using dedicated bike highways here. Maybe a future version with an 11 kW motor? You can ride those in Western Europe with a car license, and with that kind of power it would keep up with highway traffic. Something like the Zero S or FXE, but less expensive. Now there's a business opportunity... Also: yay for Jen's cheerful nature, as always.

Great video and some good looking and practical ebikes. With 3kW they should be able to top around 65Km/h. Love hub motors but with my own 8kW hub motor bike and no liquid or forced air cooling they can overheat quickly. The price is kinda understandable but limiting. My conversion was around AU$10k (4 years ago) incl. the certification and a 6.5kWh LFP battery. Absolutely love the total quietness...just the wind.....

Awesome video, looks like a lot of fun. I'd love to try something out like that though those would be unfortunately very impractical in the US as anywhere except the most back street areas you'd always be bumping up against the limited speed. Hope their business does well and really takes off enough to do something like a rental battery vending kind of deal. Unfortunately my days as a Zero owner have come to an unexpected end as my SR was stolen three weeks ago. Not trusting the ignition you could turn over with a bobby pin I had it fully insured and still made quite a profit on it. While I waited for that I happened across a deal too good to pass up on an 2019 Enerigica. I really wanted the faired model but there aren't many affordable options so $6.9k for a EVA 107 and a few hundred extra to get it shipped over 4k km across the country I should have my new EV bike in the next couple of weeks. Reading through the owners manual the prior owner shipped with the keys and title I'm honestly pretty stoked.
@NewZeroland Жыл бұрын
Nooo Spike!! Man that's so sad to hear, but I'm glad this story has a happy ending. How did you find an Eva 107 for $6.9k??? That's such a score!! I'm really excited for ya :D
@spike_spencer Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, it was one of those things I've been scouring the salvage auctions for the last couple of years and missed a wrecked 22 Zero SR/S that I think went super cheap locally only a couple of months back, but pretty much started looking to fill the EV motorcycle hole in my stable right away so put a watch on eBay for a few bikes the one I bought the owner listed it for 13k, then dropped it to 10, then 7.9 and a few hours later sent me an offer for 6.9... I was like "I don't think I can find a wrecked one this cheap so I'll figure out how to move it 4,000km" it looks to be in pristine condition basically ridden 5,000km in California then moved to Ohio two years ago and now has still less than 6,000km. I'm going to miss the tank storage, the lightweight frame and flickable skinny 300cc style tires, maybe the belt drive, but I won't miss so many other things about it to be honest. For example I gave up trying to keep the firmware up to date with their buggy app I feel they wrote on Windows Vista and never updated. So looking forward to the future and having a second Italian super bike.
