I had a 68 BelAir, cousin to the Impala for those that don't know. Even with the IL-6-250, single barrel, the posi-trac would leave Corvettes sitting and spinning at the stoplight while I launched. Of course, once they hooked up, they'd catch me and pass me pretty quickly. But I did get clocked in southern Georgia at 132mph with that minimal engine set up. Straight six, two speed power glide, and posi rear performed fairly well in that old highway barge. I can barely imagine a 427 in what would surely be a much lighter car, with modern materials and manufacturing.❤ However, I'll believe it when I see one on the road. 🛣️
