NextGENeration Of Voters

I tried to explain to US Lib-Dem voters that while the next generations leaned left, lip service wasn't enough to get their votes; the party would have to deliver for them. They basically made the "they've got nowhere to go" argument. It's taken eight years of Obama and four years of Trump for the party to make any nod in young voters' direction. And while the nod seems like a landslide shift compared to Regan-esk Clinton and Obama years, it barely registers compared to the needs of the times.

I'm millennial and the only reason I voted for him was because Bernie wasn't a good enough write in risk when Trump was the primary chance to win with a divided Democrat vote and we sure as hell didn't want back to back Trump terms.

I'm glad that young progressives have orgs and advocates for their issues. I wish us older progressives had the same. 😞 No one is courting our votes, and issues like M4A seem to be completely sidelined at this point.

Well, to be far, they are not really suppose to be our "leaders", they're suppose to be our representatives. But in order for one to represent, we have to tell them what we want or as you have been saying it, push them. Unfortunately we just don't seem to have enough people "pushing" their reps. I'll even admit I do a poor job of it myself.
