They inherited a $12+ billion surplus and turned it into a deficit in less than 2 yrs (before the recession hit). They failed on affordability - 800,000 affordable homes were lost - the price of housing went up 60%! Toys, wine, and restaurant meals. The families assisted by our food bank are not burdened by the GST taxes on these items since they purchase very few of them. However, they do pay utility bills and drive to work. Perhaps eliminating the Carbon tax should be considered.
