Excellent video. I have a 3.5" Nextion display and connect it to my PC using a CH340G RS232 to TTL module. This allows me to transfer my code from the Nextion IDE directly to the screen without having to use a MicroSD card.

In the Nextion Editor you click the Upload button and select the correct COM port if you have more than one. The code is then transferred to the display.

I know that they are no good for small projects, but if I need a touch screen I tend to just buy the cheapest android tablet on the market at that time and interface it with the arduino through Bluetooth or USB. I actually just brought 5 kindle fire 7's as they were on offer for £25 last month. Must have been selling below cost.

Nextion are great for GUI and run a bit faster than the cheaper TFT’s. Get the 3.5” though they are worth the extra few dollars. UPDATE: I think this is such as good video for anyone interested in learning the Nextion, I am going to give away a '3.5" Enhanced Memory LCD' when this video gets to 20k views! Ill post the giveaway shortly. Be sure to support ElectroNoobs and share this video with all your friends! A TFT file is no longer built and placed in the bianyi folder on Compile. To generate a TFT file, one has to use the TFT file output menuitem located under the File menu.

the drawing of your waveform appears to change direction. As long as the screen is not full, it is draw like on any oscilloscope from left to right, but once the screen is full, scrolling rolls the already displayed waveform from left to right, instead of right to left, as would be the usual way.

The last file path "bianyi" is the direct romanization(transfer Chinese into English by sound) of the Chinese word "編譯" which means "compile" And the attachment name of the font "zi" is the romanization of the Chinese word "字" which means "word" lol

No. The sd card reader on yours is for storing pictures only. Not for nextion files

Be very careful with these Nextion displays. There is a Chinese version of this display and some Chinese sellers are advertising them as non cinese ones thus they are not programmable via the "rest world" Software.

Ok it's work. Just upload data to arduino. Than connect the display. Great job. It so easy. I just start my adventure with nextion and arduino. I couldn't find any instruction on how to comunicate with the display. Thank you again.

@@piotrb9887 I have GREAT news for you! I've been using Nextion displays for years now and those stupid libraries pretty much made it impossible to make the larger projects that I wanted. The good news is, YOU DON'T NEED TO USE THE NEXTION LIBRARIES!!! Rather than explaining it all here, I highly recommend that you search YT for the words, *Nextion without libraries* You'll see a channel with a big green E. "Cheap..." He shows how to do everything you need with a Nextion without libraries. I can't even explain how easy it is and because you're not using libraries, your code will run faster. All you need to do is start a serial port. If the board you use only has 1 serial port (RX/TX) you could either use that port or perhaps use SoftSerial. However, with many boards, there is more than 1 serial port. Ex. Arduino Nano *Every* board. Also, Mega 256 R3 has 3 ports. Also, ESP32 boards have 2 or more serial ports. Bill's channel will show you how to format the Serial.print line to send the data to Nextion. He also shows you how to GET data from the Nextion. How I found this was a couple of years ago when I was working on a project, using Nextion libs. I was so frustrated because the sketch was taking over 75% of memory and with some boards, like the Nano, at 75%, the board would get glitchy. it was killing my project. So I was searching for "Nextion small library" and came across Bill's channel. IMMEDIATELY, removing the libraries and just changing the code to send directly to the serial port that the Nextion was on, my sketch went from 75% down to about 30% !!!! I also noticed that things ran much faster, which makes sense because the code didn't have to be parsed through the library, adding delays. I hope this helps! YES, I'M ADDICTED TO NEXTION! LOL
