So maybe this is a lame video idea, but I would love a video (as a new rider) about how to know when it's time to get off the trails and do some back country riding. Talking about stuff like how to find your way back to the trail, knowing when go head back due to running out of daylight. I love all the videos, thanks to Dan and the Next Level team!

Thats a tough one because off-trail conditions and daylight is very much dependent on where you ride. The biggest thing we would suggest is to being prepared in case you do get stuck out. Here are some videos we did in the past. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g53If4J_Ztamf9U kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqm3Zq2YbLimja8

Good video! I'd love to see a detailed preseason maintenance for just the rear skid. I pulled mine out the way one of your videos shows but it would be so helpful seeing what to look for and what's ok and what needs replaced (bearings, bushings, bolts etc...). Keep up the good work!

Loves the videos man! I’m digging the more tech stuff about sleds like clutching and suspension. How about a video on the difference between chain cases and belt drives!!

Dan, can you share with me your air pressure setting on all 4 corners and where u set rebound. Im your weught, and what im looking for is a smooth comfy ride getting to and from the back country. A vid also explaining what and when to make dial adjustments would be very kewl, including rebound adjustment. We spend all this money on the shocks, but breaking down the adjustments would be very kelw🙏🙏👊👊

Hey bud you bet. Remember that the QS3 settings can vary depending on snow conditions. For most of my riding I’ll be in the QS3 #1 position but may change it to #2 in wet or firm snow. FOX QS3 - Front Ski Shocks Main Chamber: 60 PSI EVOL Chamber: 80 PSI Rebound Setting: 1 *QS3 Clicker: 1 Soft, 2 Medium, 3 Firm FOX QS3 - Front Track Shock Main Chamber: 40-50 PSI FOX QS3 - Rear Track Shock Main Chamber: 145 PSI EVOL Chamber: 160 PSI Rebound Setting: 1 *QS3 Clicker: 1 Soft, 2 Medium, 3 Lockout The most important thing to remember is making small adjustments to your suspension and then riding it. Then make more if necessary. The change in 5lbs of air on a main chamber or evol has fairly drastic effects on the shock so go easy on your tuning and continue to dial it in. Burandt is a RMK Pro guy whereas I like the khaos so in turn I may make some small adjustments to the rear suspension like adding a bit more pressure to the center shock and be a bit lighter in the rear just to help things stay nice and light in the front end. Hope this helps and please remember that suspension not unlike clutching isn’t always just a “set it and forget it” adjustment and I may make multiple adjustments throughout the season depending on snow or even what sled I’m riding on that day. Keep practicing ❄️👊👊

It seems to me like the challenge with Mtn Sled shock tuning is that the weight on the shock is constantly changing. A shock can go from supporting sled/rider weight on 2 skis, to 1 ski, and 1 ski with very little rider weight. Its interesting to me that we set Sag with the weight on 2 skis when I buy my shocks for sidehilling, not 2 skis down but perhaps 2 skis down is the best midpoint between 1 ski and 1 ski wrong foot forward

Between weight on the shocks, snow conditions and sway bars shock tuning on a snowmobile definitely has its challenges. The nice thing is that with all the testing FOX does on their own and with the Backcountry Team is that they have really good setups already done. Plus with the QS3 and QSR 3 way adjusters there is quite a bit of adjustment still in the shock also with the FLOAT's you can adjust air pressure (spring rate) for bigger changes.

Awesome vid. My only questions are, are they very durable? And how much money are they?
@NextLevelRidingClinics
@NextLevelRidingClinics 3 жыл бұрын
There are definitely no durability concerns, the shocks are built to a really high quality both inside and out. Plus they are fully rebuildable so after a few seasons of use you can send them in for new oil and seals if needed. The front kit is $1595 and the rears kit is $1295.

I know you said that you go for a tether and then suspension but what would you say is the first part to swap on a stock sled to make it lighter. In other words. What is the heaviest part to replace for the best bang for your buck! It would be awesome to get a vid about the top 5 upgrades you would make to a stock sled! Great video by the way!

Seat is another easy, low hanging fruit if you will. Skinz or seat concepts made ones that drop a lot of weight and give a much better neutral ride position

I’d love to see a video on how to make a stock suspension setup wheelie to its full potential, I think there’s a lot of riders out there that are wheelie hungry and would love some tips and tricks on how to make their sleds wheelie better without expensive power mods
