We made it to #prudhoebay. It is the end of our road up #north, the conclusion of 6 weeks through #Canada and #Alaska, and it marks the end of our journey in northern latitudes. From now on, we only go #south. Right, because it is the end of a road but the beginning of another one. The legendary #panamerican.
Around 45000 km across the #Americas! What an exciting thought. We are at day 1 one of this new journey and it is intense. Snow, mud, and broken brake pads, but also, amazing landscape, crazy fall colours and sun, everything is in this episode.

I loved the section where you sped up the road. That was super cool looking! Also, the look on Nick's face when he's doin the Brody in the snow. Sliding around doing Brodies is so fun! My Subaru loves to do them..Give me a wide open parking.lot and I'm like a kid in a candy store. Brody is old slang for skidding around with a bike or car.

What a wonderful trip, heading south with the migrating birds and you will avoid the heat in North America. But make sure your air conditioner is working well when you get to Mexico/Central America!

To fix brake problem simply use needle-nose pliers to pull out two small alloy split pins (straighten them out to remove them and you can risk recycling but they are very cheap to replace anyway), then tap in bigger bolt-pins to loosen yellow brake pads. You will need to force slave pisten a wee bit back into caliper to fully release brake pads. l wouldn't try to drive on grinding brakes as it will cause irreversible damage to rotors.

As first thing winch is for winching not for pulling for that you use straps. As far as brake pads go you have safty pins in pins that hold the pads you put them out with pliers and than pull out the pins and than pads. When you puting back pads you should open pistons on brake calipers dont know what kind of tools you have with you use flat head screwdriver and push pistons back in caliper. Than you just put back the pads pins and dont forget safty pins. Hope I did help yust a lil. Cheers to all of you. 🍺🍷

Like I said before, with a Defender you need a good set of tools. And you will very soon get to know how to use them. Not that Defenders are bad, they lean toward owner maintenance. That's what makes them probably the best overland vehicles for remote travel. Bon voyage.

Are you sure that’s a recovery point and not just a tie down point for transport like on the Discovery 1 and 2?

1:50-2:00 is it a winching recovery of pulling recovery. It looks like a pull to me, so in that case you need a snatch traps or kinectic ropes with soft shackle of traditional D rings. I'm sure you guys know, but after years of travelling and living in a 4wd it started to take tolls on you and as human being driving fatigue can cause bad decisions. Please don't repeat. It is better to be safe than sorry. I'm telling you because i think i know all but because i had a really bad and sad experience in recovery situation. I don't wanna end up you guys like me and totally ruined my life with a big loss cuz of one clumsy decision. Please this is not a race rest for a day or two and push yourselves too much, thanks. Safe journey for the rest of the journey even if it's gonna last a lifetime.
