Hey you amazing adventurous pair?? I just found this video of you on the Renault 4L Trophy. I watched several of the official videos years ago and had no idea you were there. What an unbelievable challenge in such an amazing versatile practical and unstoppable lttle car!! I have fond memories of the R4. My bro and I learned to drive in a 1970 6volt 845cc model with the best grille Renault put on the R4. The chrome and mesh one. I also learned a lot of my mechanical skills on it too. The 3 things one was always having to keep on top of was the handbrake in particular, and brakes in general. The muffler to manifold joint which always ended up blowing and yes, those rear wheel bearings!! One trip we did to a mountainous region in Zimbabwe some "rude" fellow campers accused us of air lifting the car in.... But no! We drove it all the way up there. We got 18km per litre on that trip after a new gearbox, recently overhauled engine and new carby were fitted. My bro also rolled it which remarkably little damage, so it had a fair bit of history and stories to tell. Maybe when you make it to Zimbabwe you will end up in the same campsite in Chimanimani. that we were accused of doing the air lift!! Will catch up with your Aussie vids soon. Chow for now and God Bless. H

Looked like a great rally. Yes those classic car rallies are very costly. I'll have to look through more of your videos to find how you budgeted and planned the logistics of it all.👍💪

Hahahaah it was already 3 years ago. Mathilde cut her hair just before the world tour for easy maintenance and nick has already grown his by then. No specific reasons

Seems like to be competitive you needed a Renault.

We all had the same Renault 4L, there were 1300 of them, but we did have the biggest engine possible in there :) but surely it's the pilot and co-pilot.

I have crossed paths with you this year and last year on the A66 from Merida to Seville and I must say that the majority of you are a danger to traffic, you have no respect for other users of public roads. I was close to calling the police because of what you were doing. They block my truck one in the front and one behind and force me to slow down, recording themselves, shouting, sticking their heads/hands out the window. Dangerous overtakes and so on. Many of them even seemed drugged/drunk. I'm not saying it's all of you, but those of you who aren't, control the others. I'm thinking about filing a complaint, the authorities had to prohibit this.
