U have been instrumental with my being able to proactively and knowledgeable advocate on my health journey . When they say “rule out” that means that is the diagnosis that they suspect the patient has. Whatever is being “ruled out” is what the HCP are running test for because they suspect that is the illness or disease the patient has but it’s not confirmed yet.

We start our assessment as soon as we have eyes on the patient. Seeing that they are gasping for breath and cool and clammy is more than enough to know what to do.

Instinctively I wanted to pick pulse ox or vitals, but I knew that moving them to a sitting position was the correct option. If it was SATA, I would have picked all 3.
