For lulz, I decided to post what youtube's suggestion was : It's just the start - but it's all going to go sideways!

I don't generally share the view that game design is improving linearly over time, but the practice of maintaining verbal/conceptual clarity has come a long way over the past 40 years. Looking forward to this series. I'm always curious what people are hoping to achieve when they make idiosyncratic design choices.

Clarity? I dunno. It feels more like there's a willingness to try and get everything 'just perfect', but I'm not certain that's clarity. As an example, I find most SPI games of this era to be very approachable and understandable. This one was up against some impossible constraints though - dropping a 20 page rulebook to 12 - which was handed to a couple novices.

Nice. Glad you are back to a war game.

Why is it that listening to you wrangle and fight and struggle with line-of-sight rules, somehow relieves me of all my anxiety? Perhaps there's something comforting about the fact that right now, my work is nowhere near as complex as what you're dealing with?

Hah! Gotta agree there.

It's been a while since I played this one. I believe the green units are Nassau. The Hanovarians are red. Only the red units can use the 2 depth fire table, which is very effective. To check. Perhaps it's only English units??.
@calandale17 күн бұрын
Supposedly it's english and hannovarian - I could see them all being red though.

Nope - boardgamegeek.com/image/636646/ney-vs-wellington-the-battle-of-quatre-bras shows clearly that Green is the Hannoverian
