Thanks for the tip! I completely didn't think to adjust the speed of the video! The thing with Mineta, though, is that, however absurd it may seem, I'd be willing to bet there are a great many viewers who can relate to him. I lot of boys/guys IRL are girl-crazy. And I think this show handles the topic pretty well. They never really condone his behavior (because of his classmates being upset at his pervy-ness), thereby teaching viewers that Mineta's mindset is not really socially acceptable, while at the same time, the show leads Mineta to realize, as we see in this episode, that his original mindset was flipped from what it should be. Attaining a certain status in life doesn't always mean you'll get the girl, but being the best "you" that you can be while on the journey of life is the better way to go. It also shows another way Midoriya has inspired his classmates, and helps teach valuable lessons to the viewers. This show is great, and I'd bet a lot of people can relate pretty well to many aspects of the show! 😁 Thanks for the upload, as always, and I hope you all continue to love this show as it goes on! 😁

As much as it seems that the teachers are being absolutely ruthless with the students, it's still pretty obvious that they're holding back and giving all of them at least one opening to exploit. If they wanted to, any of the teachers could wipe the arena floor with any of the students easily, but that's not the point of the exam. It might seem like a bit too much, but it does push the students to do better and try harder.

For real. 13 would have killed Uraraka if she was actually trying. It was dumb that Uraraka passed for running straight into a black hole that would turn her into dust. And even more dumb was that Deku praised it as using 13's quirk to get to 13 faster when that's not how it would actually work.

Leaving openings for the students to win is not only practical, its realistic to how villains behave. Powerful villains will often start boasting if they feel confident they can win. We see examples of this later in the series. They want to make heroes feel fear, break their spirit, or just feel superior. This is exactly what the teachers are doing to the students.

@@Gopal__S It's not really dumb for Uraraka to exploit that. There not supposed to play pretend on what if's in the tests, they treat them as is. That means, for instance, that 13 and Snipes will never go for the kill and that can be exploited.

Just to clarify, cuz this is not actually explained. But Snipe's Quirk allows him to lock on to any target that he can see within six hundred meters of himself and make any projectile he release chase after said target.

One thing I love about Mic’s character is in the teacher’s specs you find out his stats are crazy, especially his intelligence. But also; one of the aspects of his quirk that he never uses is Crazy Base. If his base is as effective as his volume he could actually kill someone with that, or at least rattle their very bones, and he never uses it.

Even so, his calculations are never 100% accurate. We can't forget about the chaos theory, that determines that one minor miscalculation or error can lead to a big consequence. So it's still correct to call them "guesses".

Just going to do things like last time. 13 vs Uraraka (13…I just noticed that and that’s hilarious) and Aoyama (18 and maybe Apollo 18 one day) Target: Not really either (but knowing Aoyama and his low midterm test, more him than her) Intended Victory: Capture This whole fight was a bluff. You can’t outrun and escape black holes. And I REALLY have no reason to think that’s not an actual black hole. But she can’t kill the students. Uraraka did exactly what she was supposed to using 13’s black hole to propel herself. And use close combat to overcome her. Which happens to be what Uraraka learned and what Aoyama needs a LOT of. (Also Uraraka didn’t seem to be hiding her crush much more unaware of her emotions all together. Which is actually quite realistic for high school and a neat approach I don’t see very much.) I will say based on info we got last episode and this one, this fight actually did NOT go well for the two of them for a while and there was a LOT of needless struggling and not much strategizing between the two either. OR teamwork. Uraraka may have ended the match in 5 seconds, but if it was a lot of dead space leading up to that, I don’t foresee this being a good grade even if they passed. Wonder how much time passed as they were in the event horizon of a black hole. Did everyone around them age? I wonder if 13 actually witnessed event horizon time lapse when Uraraka got close. Principal Nezu vs Kaminari (20) and Mina (19) Target: Both Intended Victory: NO SHOT there’s even a TRACE of mercy here. I genuinely can’t guarantee your survival and Mouse man is going to hurt you with an honest to god smile on his face. Remember when I said there were 2 tests DESIGNED to be failed? This is one of them. Nezu chose Kaminari’s worst environment since the metal area could shock his teammate as much as himself, used destruction rubble too big for Mina to plow through. While hiding in a place neither could ever HOPE to find him AND in a way where his weights did minimal slowing him down. To top it off, destroying all but ONE route in a place where neither could see which way was the exit. Much like a mouse maze trying to get through for the cheese in experiments. (So he must formerly be a mouse.) Kaminari and Mina got the worst midterms and were in DESPERATE need of extra classes. They NEEDED summer school from UA’s eyes. So they gave them a CHANCE, but they gave no mercy. And Principal Nezu is having the freaking TIME OF HIS LIFE making these kids MISERABLE. Don’t know how being a human hater as a result of his past isn’t a conflict of interest, but hey he’s there! Present Mic vs Koda (11) and Jiro (7) Target: Neither Intended Victory: Capture This fight is a VERY unusual one. Because this one did NOT go as Present Mic designed it in the SLIGHTEST. His quirk is voice. It’s an untouchable blast. But by the same token, nothing is stopping you from charging. Which is why he camped the exit. He wanted a close combat confrontation like 13. Jiro had a very physical heavy internship and both prefer long range attacking. So when Koda got over his bug fear, he unlocked a whole new aspect of his quirk the teachers wouldn’t have taken into account. And they even overcame him NOT using the intended method. Which was meant to be WAY harder or even impossible. Hence why Recovery Girl was angry at Present Mic. (Also this is the 1st time you hear Koda’s voice and yes Present Mic appears just as scared of bugs as Koda.) Not only did the kids make a completely different avenue the teachers didn’t consider, but they also found and addressed their weaknesses that their internship didn’t even have them working on! So let’s say these kids gave themselves extra credit making the moves they made. (I overshadowed Jiro’s role. The girl freaking busted ROCK with vibrations and although Present Mic wasn’t going all out, she did cancel out one of his blasts. And she made several moves to include Koda and also accommodate for him. So kudos Jiro) Snipe vs Shoji (10) and Hagakure (16) Target: Shoji Intended Victory: I’m thinking this one might have been escape. This is the least thought out test. Snipe is a hypothetical active shooter and you’re often taught to run for it before hiding and fighting, and he’d slowly force out all 3. (Also they never bring it up, but his quirk is homing. He always hits his target at certain ranges, but he can’t choose where he hits his target. So he’s also just a fantastic shot) I’m not saying Shoji did anything noticeably wrong, he’s been kicking butt quietly in every test. But I assume they pinned him against Snipe so he wasn’t so quirk reliant stretching all over the place. And with all the hiding spots, all they could be perceived to do was run…if they didn’t put him against Hagakure. Let’s see who is better at playing hide and seek…with someone who is LITERALLY invisible. Snipe was not at ALL ready for her and accidentally gave her a freebie. I did want to see more of this test sadly. Oh well. To both Hagakure and Snipe’s credit, making herself completely invisible is INCREDIBLY dangerous in this fight if she happens to be anywhere near his gun shots because even WITHOUT Snipe’s quirk the whole not hitting his target where he intended still applies, and she didn’t communicate to Shoji where she was going to go. It was a heck of a gamble and I get why Snipe overlooked her. Another test that while they did well, probably not the highest of grades. Midnight vs Mineta (9) and Sero (17) Target: Mineta (duh) Intended Victory: Escape Being pervy is not a crime. Acting on it can often be. Sero had all the tools he needed to go against Midnight. He had a mask her quirk couldn’t get through, he could absolutely escape faster than she could nab him with her weapon choice, and he could even disarm her. Too bad he did NONE of those things to get Mineta out of dodge. And all Mineta had to do was not act on his pervy thoughts and control himself while escaping. But he not only stepped up, but flat out overpowered her. He got in UA from skill. His aim with his quirk is INCREDIBLE to land that many perfect shots on a freaking whip. And he got her completely stuck. Mineta might have a whiny voice, but he’s RARELY wrong. He had every reason to think he had no chance. He was the target and he freaked out he was down a teammate in 5 seconds AND was going against someone that being in PROXIMITY to her could get him to lose. Also Midnight’s quirk can absolutely be considered entrapment with how she uses it. She acts lustful and pervy in her own way, hopes the guy acts on it, and she puts them to sleep before they get to her. To think her costume used to have A LOT more skin showing. Based on the design of her current costume and how she’s the R-rated hero…you know what she used to leave uncovered. (I know we saw her 1st costume in the tv interview but I don’t think it was the 1st design.) Now that I think about it, must be tough to ACTUALLY be in a relationship with her. It might be ridiculous but this is still a pretty freaking solid match. And once again Mineta’s respect for Deku gets him out of his jam and he does what he needs to do. Final note: that moment Deku is talking about how proud he is of Mineta while running, slowing down to a walk to standstill as he realizes what HE has to do to win, and who he’s with…might just be the best animated moment of representing the emotions of that FLAWLESSLY. With the music fitting just as much. I know small moment, but every time you can see Deku’s confidence and body language go from “Yeah I’m going to do my best!” to “I am absolutely positively dead” in SUCH a believable way. Also All-Might’s current fighting time limit is 1 hour. And the test time limit is 30 minutes if I recall. The teachers know of All-Might’s time limit and made the precautions to avoid it being used up. Aizawa was talking to deflated All-Might like it was normal before the test started so they must’ve found out in between season 1 and 2 by my guess.

I fully intend to do this all the way to season 6 and beyond. People correcting me and finding new details is honestly a lot of fun and I’ve gotten very little poor treatment of the infamous fandom. And considering what I do, it’s kind of surprising sometimes. I’d still say the pokemon flame wars are worse.

Some quirks can manifest themselves at birth or before age 4. The thing is many quirks require some kind of will or awareness to be activated or when the child is under a stressful situation. Not just that, but since normally people inherit one or both quirks of their parents (or a mixed version of them), they know how they can discover theirs. With Present Mic, since his quirk is activated when he yells, it manifested as soon he was born and cried for the first time. Also, one has to remember that most mutation quirks are determined as soon the child is born, since... well, they are visible. And let's not forget that some quirks can manifest themselves much later in life (it's rare, but it happens). Basically, it depends on the quirk and how they can manifest themselves.

Honestly, it was around this point of the story that I started thinking Mineta acts the way he does just to get a rise out of people. As we see here, and evidenced by him even making it into this class in the first place, he's FAR more cunning than he lets on. If he ever actually committed to being a creep, he'd be far more "successful" at it rather than getting his deserved punishment at every turn for it.

I do find it wholesome that Mineta gains courage from being inspired by Deku. His goal of wanting girls to like him may not be noble like Deku or Iida but if he captures villians and keeps people safe then I dont see what wrong with his goal. That why I always had a problem with Stain's Ideology. Mineta is actually one of the more intelligent and capable students despite being a gag character. I do love Koda momment with the insects. It was cute.

Then she got Aizawa in (and possibly Mic, I don't recall if she had an active part in getting _him_ in), and _he's_ a great teacher, so, Nezu being Nezu, maybe that was the plan all along and having Midnight as a teacher was the price to pay. (She submitted his paperwork against Aizawa's stated will, so he almost certainly wouldn't be working for UA if it wasn't for her.)

One thing that also helped Mineta in his fight against Midnight was the fact that he knew everything about her. Since he is a pervert, he knows pretty much everything about all attractive female heroes. He won because he took advantage of Midnight's sadistic nature. He knew she wouldn't be able to resist to chase him, if he run away crying. So he lured her away from the gate and then, using Sero's tape to not breath her perfume, he trapped her.

Aoyama is smarter than people give him credit for. I bet he mentioned Uraraka's crush on purpose to get her to lose her grip so she'd get close to 13. Knowing 13 can't kill them, she'd have to stop her power temporarily. Giving them a chance to subdue her. And of course Uraraka fell for it, even she wasn't aware of her feelings!

One of the things I hate most about Mineta is that his quirk as actually really cool and creative. Him linking the balls together to create a huge adhesive whip is so cool! Same with him using them in season 1 to trap people in the water, or using them as traps in the cavalry battle, or using the fact that he bounces off of them to be super mobile. His power is one of the most creative ones in the entire show. But then he opens his damn mouth.

Maybe Japanese schools are different but, in my experience, a kid like the quirkless/disabled Deku, wouldn't have been bullied; he would have been ignored. The thing about Nezu as well is that he wasn't even hindered by the weights, since his quirk isn't really physical. Sure, if Kaminari and Mina had found him and had been able to get to him, then the weights might've given them a chance to catch him, but his use of his quirk didn't even give them a chance to find him or the exit gate. And the weights had no effect on that. So, Nezu didn't even really get a handicap. :"D

I think its pretty straightfoward, Ashido melts stuff until they find the crane with the principal and Kaminari electrifies the crane to stop the principal, hence they meet the crane legs, it falls, and they cuff him, or, just try going im a directopm and 1elt everything on the way, including the perimeter wall of the exam area

I think it's the fanfiction One For All and Eight For The Ninth that discusses this idea. The writer's concept is that Quirked animals are somewhat common, but hard to locate. They're generally more intelligent than non-Quirked examples of their species, just not to the extent of Nezu, so they usually understand the value of hiding their ability. One character mentions having a snake who's officially his pet, but really more of a roommate. This comes up pretty late in the story though, so don't read it expecting to see that bit right away.

Two theories that explain the origin of quirks say that they came from either a disease spread by mice or as a result of natural evolution. Both theories would explain why some animals (even if rare) would come to develop quirks as well. And since legislation is more flexible with animal testing than human, the animals with quirks were ideal to experiment on to study quirks. Our luck is that Nezu is able to control his resentment towards humans, because I can't imagine what would have happened if he had become a villain, instead of a hero.

Actually, there are other animals with quirks... just not on the main series. Besides Nezu, there are three other known animals with Quirks that appear on the Vigilantes spin-off: two of them are queen bees with a quirk that allows them to take over human vessels and control a swarm of worker bees (and also that vessel's quirk), while the other is a cat that, under the influence of a quirk enhancer drug, could freely fuse and defuse with an object of its choice, creating a combined form of the cat and that object.
