that wasnt Ufotables touch. Ufotable only did the animation. It was Koyoharu's addition since she's the author. The animation studio can never add anything without the author's consent. Besides, whenever a studio does the recording session, or the making of the storyboard(this is crucial in script writing and animation, and/or making a scene), the author of the series is always present, together with the director/producer

The thing about Tanjiro "defeating" Rui is that he really would've gotten killed instantly if Rui had taken him seriously. In actuality he did no damage to Rui, even with his final attack since Rui was able to just cut his own head off to avoid it. Shinobu: *Does her job as a demon slayer and helps people* "I don't like you." I mean I get that he has a change of heart in the next few reactions, but imo it really shouldn't take a traumatic backstory to not dislike the character who saved Zenitsu and gave the crew a place to rest and receive medical attention for no repayment. That's kinda wild.

Don’t worry, there was something weird about Shinobu in the start. I think she was meant to make the audience uneasy. She was calm and nice but there was a hint of her being sadistic and it was hard to trust her. But I realized that’s what makes her interesting.

I think the same could be said for all the hashiras since they were portrayed as ppl against the mcs, especially "oh my baby Nezuko" (yes I'm being sarcastic about those blind Nezuko lovers who get so riled up when she's mistreated in any way) lol Call me different, but I tend to be automatically drawn to eerie (Shinobu) and abrasive (Sanemi) characters who are often hated by the audience based on their 1st impressions. xD The general public usually comes around when they learn more about their backstories. That's when they look kind of dumb for hating on them in the beginning. ;P

The Shinobu hate isn't that surprising guys, there is a pretty even divide between ppl who immediately like vs who immediately hate her as far as first reactions go. Just about everyone so far that I've seen react to this series who didn't like Shinobu initially usually ends up like her in the next few episodes. Shinobu is pretty unique as far as female characters goes, especially in the shounen landscape so it's not too surprising she's a bit polarizing on first impression. Compared to say, Mitsuri? I adore her, but bubbly air heads are super common in anime and no one I've seen has had a bad reaction to her and her magical girl breath powers. They are both great and don't ever get their abilities undermined. If you dislike Shinobu because you think there is something off about her... well you aren't wrong, it's just not what you think it is.

Tanjiro at this point is nowhere near Hashira level. It took everything he had to launch a kamikaze attack that Rui still countered with ease. Compare that to how easily Giyu (who is in the mid-tier among the Hashira) took care of him

@@polygon2745 Rui didn't counter it, he chopped off his own head out of desperation. If Tanjiro had still been able to move after that he and Nezuko would've figured out a way to defeat Rui. Nezuko had also just awakened her demon blood art and was also able to unleash attacks equal to the power of Tanjiro's. It was their combined might not Tanjiro's alone that worried Rui. The fact is though, that Tanjiro was incapacitated and rescued by Giyu so we'll never really know what would've happened if he hadn't gone down.

Some people are too much, I used to dislike Shinobu up until a certain point in the manga too, still don't like her that much, but it doesn't mean I don't acknowledge and admire her amazing skills and the way she draws people to her? It just has to do with her personality, something keeps on rubbing me the wrong way. I'm glad Lupa kept it real until he changed his mind and didn't blindly love Shinobu like a good portion of the fandom.

If your not a manga reader all you have of her was that she healed zenitsu and then knocked out a badly hurt tanjiro by kicking his head. Extacly what is so good about her at this point. Lupa doesnt know her story yet so he can only judge from what he seen. So yeah Lupa is keeping it real

@@Dcemberist She tried to kill Nezuko because she was doing her job, and as far as she knew Nezuko was a completely ordinary demon. Tanjiro saying that Nezuko is his sister is no reason for her to stop. Also she wasn't trying to hurt Tanjiro either, so that's just flat out false. She didn't kick Tanjiro in the head either, that was Kanao. I mean, at least get your facts straight man. By this episode it's clear that she's being helpful to the main cast, is probably one of the kindest Hashira, she's a badass, and her character design is great. Even if you don't love her, I don't see a reason to go "I don't like you" every time she speaks for the first time in an episode. If someone feels antagonistic towards her while she's technically the enemy, then sure I understand. I just don't get bringing up "I don't like you" multiple times for no reason. If you're judging from what he's seen by this episode, she's obviously on Tanjiro's side at least to some extent and has been helpful on multiple occasions. She was only antagonistic on one occasion, against a demon. Y'know, because she's a demon slayer.
