The thing is, even if NF doesn't use complex rhyme schemes the actual content of his songs is always multi-layered, like in "Nate" where he's' talking to himself, or the entire Mansion album, or intros 1-3 where he's metaphorically talking to different emotions and concepts. But honestly, when it comes to the whole "complex rhyme schemes" debate, I like to refer to a Leonardo Da Vinci quote, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication," and NF embodies that idea, his music is simple but effective. I feel like people have really lost the appreciation of simplicity.

My idea of the video symbolism In The Search there is a cage in the background that you see him walking from. That cage was in Outcast which is kinda the symbolism of the highest moment in his career. He had locked himself in the cage because he didn't want to let people in or be apart of the music industry. Ironically, Perception album pushed him in the spot light and out of his cage. During his perception tour he had a mental breakdowns and ended up checking himself into like a mental health facility for a week. So I think that's kinda where the people in white are coming from. They aren't insane though. He mentions in The Search that he wrote a song called Changes and you should listen. Well the people in white are in the process of Changing. They are overcoming the stigmas of mental health that they've been putting a fake smile on to hide. That's why you see that line by the circus tent with people getting their smiles removed. You see people changing from their dark black clothes into the white which can represent them taking the steps to get help. He's speaking to those people in white which I think are also fans that have changed and he's telling them about how his doubts and burdens are telling him he needs to do more interviews and promote the music but that's not him and then you see all the people in white point at the balloons like saying, hey that's not you speaking...that's the balloons.. get rid of them. Then Nate is being pushed in his cart by people which is symbolic of the fans that are always standing behind him and trying to push him forward in his career and help because they genuinely care about him because they are struggling with the same things. Then you get a shot of him and that old man sitting in their carts mirroring himself in that like dark building which I think symbolizes his future self if he doesn't change. Then obviously is the end where you see him reluctantly giving up his burdens and seeking help from someone he can't see and doesn't know if he can trust. Sorry that was a lot... But that's kind of from things he has said and my own interpretation what I see. I recommend listening to Changes, Nate, and Returns off the album. I mean I would recommend the whole album but to react... I'd recommend those three songs now that you have a better understanding of what he is going through. Also the song Nate was written based off of his time in the mental health facility where the therapist suggested he speak to his younger self to try and confront his issues.

The balloons are his doubts and burdens and that’s what he’s telling to “Leave Me Alone” and that’s also why he’s slapping them away towards the end of the video. The people are those surrounding him. The ones wearing all black are those that have longer to go to find happiness and the ones wearing white have found or are close (which is why some of them are still holding balloons). NF has a white suit and a black suit in his shopping cart, so I think that’s supposed to symbolize that he’s able to choose which one he wants to be. That’s just my interpretation of things and what I’ve seen a lot of other people say as well. I really enjoy your NF reactions and hope to see more in the future.

Bro, he has slick lines, just not in the same punchline fashion as everyone else... "thoughts are pacing, they go round and round and round, it's so draining"...... That's a bar. Pacing is walking round and round, and when something is draining it spirals (round and round) down the drain. Nate just puts it together in a different way than the others

NF’s balloons are first brought up on The Search and then further explained in this song. In The Search he says “leaving my burdens... well I brought a few with me” and points to his balloons, in this song he labels them as doubts and fears but follows the theme of negativity with regards to the balloons. He says they weigh on him every day, which is a double meaning because balloons are weightless, yet he can’t seem to let them go and float away.

I like the honesty from you guys, it's perfectly okay not to be totally on board with a song/artist. It's a reaction channel, not a hype man channel. That being said, if you're looking for one of his tracks to sway your opinion of him, gotta react to Returns... sick track with much more complex rhyme schemes and it's seriously reminiscent of Eminem in his prime (I know he doesn't like the comparisons, but it's true)

I like NF because he's a skilled rapper, but he doesn't over complicate things. Most of his tracks are just him ranting about his raw emotions, and it's kinda a breath of fresh air with all this rappers bragging about themselves with super complicated flows and rhyme schemes. He's just relatable to a normal person. Also, like he was talking about the aesthetic consistency, NF's branding is super solid, which I love as a graphic designer.

In order to UNDERSTAND NF you have to start from the beginning! He is a story teller for his life, pain, let downs, struggles, and with mental illness. He expresses himself through his music. Gotta start with his first album mansion, therapy session, perception, and then the search. The balloons are his burdens, and his doubts. The black painted smile is to hide his pain. He’s trying to CHANGE which are the people who are changing into white. At the end he passes the balloons over to someone in white. As if he’s ready to let go of his burdens. His music videos really tell stories. His own Cinema. Also if you didn’t notice the white clothes he got in the the end of The Search music video, they were sitting in his cart the whole time in this video. NF is amazing! Homeboy needs to get on board! Lol

No disrespect but a fan of 6ix9ine looking down on NF for lack "complexity" is an odd sentence. I get your criticisms he's capable of more wordplay but you only heard a few songs so Obviously you wouldn't have heard those. Not to mention the topics themselves are multilayered and complicated. And I don't know how complex you'd make mental health focused songs. There's but so much "complexity" you can put into you just airing out your struggles and others dealing with issues. If you mean you want metaphors then listen to Mansion. Not sure what you want out of the tracks but there's four albums anyway. Look around might find your definition of complexity.

I’m so happy you guys have started reacting to NF! The shopping cart has appeared only in Why, The Search and Leave me Alone - all songs you have already reacted to. But his shopping cart isn’t the only thing to note about this new album. In the cover art and in “The Search” you see him leaving a cage. This cage a symbol for his mind he is trapped in and is the main focus of his song “Outcast”. It is an absolutely incredible song that both of you would really love. The imagery in the video is amazing, the flow as well and his lyricism is at a much more sophisticated level than anything you’ve reacted to by him so far. If you could react to that song, that would be absolutely amazing! It might also get JD on the nf train!

Being clever just to clever is stupid. It's like those old hair metal bands that would hate on artists from the 90's because they didn't always have a fast cliche solo

Simple rhyme scheme, the only thing that annoys me with that comment is NF rhyme scheme is alot more technical than you are picking up on. He has double plus syllable rhymes on nearly every line. He has 1 3 2 5 rhyme scheme on the regular and he can rap at double time amazingly and anyone that understand rap will understand that this is all signs of complexed rhyme schemes. The reason it's not noticed is as it's so slick.

Get as much of the album as you can, my suggestion is, Nate, Returns, Hate myself, those are my top 3. Other then the ones with music videos like time and when I grow up which I think you already did a reaction too.

If you guys are going to do anything else from the album, Nate is by far the song you'll enjoy the most.

Lol the fact that you think he doesnt have complex rime sceams is hilarious to me becuse you are missing all his double entendres. If you would follow the story line, youd understand how complex his music is. But that's what happens when you start his story half way through.
