NF became famous before Ren. So Ren has been inspired by NF. He's a fan.

NF or Nathan Feuerstein is an American artist that released his 1st EP’s in 2012. He was raised by his Mom who was addicted to pills / opioids and died from a OD when he was an young adult. His stepfather was physically abusive. He struggled for many years with mental health and music was his outlet. That is why his music is so relatable to many. He is a genius song writer that doesn’t rely on curse words or half naked women in his videos to get “views”. His songs and videos are all connected and have a lot of symbolism. Ex/ black balloons are the burdens he carries around, the black painted smile is to mask his feelings and insecurities, wearing black in his early career was his since of despair … It’s interesting to discover the connections between the songs and albums. As a long time fan. It’s hard for me to pick which songs for you to react to but I’ll give you my top favorites that I think will help you understand him as an artist. Loved your reaction Millie. You just got a new sub from another NF Reaction addict. He is talking to his dark thoughts. Every song is dope. The NF Journey is great way to go. Love to see more NF Reactions. Pause all you like, we want to hear your thoughts just make sure you back it up a few bars after each pause to keep context. However, after hearing your reactions you did a great job with short pauses and keeping the context. It is OK to take your time with it if you want.

I really dig your voice and accent also... you are very aware of NF's challenges and great at breaking down the interpretations with accuracy beyond most reactors taking the NF journey ....

Leave Me Alone, While it is a great song, is a tough one to start with. Its like opening a book into chapter 20. His discography starts with mansion and tells his story. You are on the right path with the "Voices" in his head. He also mentioned fame called, he takes emotions and the like and will refer to them as people fairly often, there is even a song where one of the emotions picks up the mic. (Intro 3 an absolute masterpiece) Need to start with Mansion first, that will setup the rest of the story.

He’s yelling at the conflicting and negative voices in head. Here’s one undeveloped theory another reactor came up with. The whole video takes place inside NF’s mind. The other people are his OCD’s. Their job is to make sure that he always has a bouquet of burdens in his hand.

11:05 the rap that you are talking about (money and women they sleep with) is commercial rap, just for views and money. But NF and Ren are independent so they don't have a label telling them what type of song to do, so they can rap about things they want

Hi there - love your reactions. Two or three suggestions....."Pisces" by Jinjer (live session) it's become a bit popular, but if you haven't heard it, you will be surprised :) Also, "Astronomy" by Blue Oyster Cult (less cowbell) and "God Was Never on Your Side" by Motorhead - Lemmy being deep and philosophical.

One book I've been meaning to read for a while now but haven't yet because I struggle to read books on a regular basis (a new 2024 resolution I should adopt), is one that I think many of us could benefit from (including myself). It's by research psychiatrist Jeffrey Schwartz M.D who's also an expert on neuroplasticity. He speaks to how he's been able to effectively treat OCD and PTSD based on the premise that our human consciousness is the result of our physical brain and our immaterial mind working in concert with one another, or what we understand and experience as human consciousness. From what I've read on the topic it's a fascinating approach and one he discusses in a bit more detail in his YT video, "Jeffrey Schwartz: You Are More than Your Brain" (the same title as his book). For those of us who struggle with obsessive impulses and thinking, his approach could possibly be helpful.

It's funny because rap is probably my least liked genre but I absolutely love NF. There are many, but please consider doing reactions to "When I Grow Up", "The Search", and/or "Why", the last two also touch on his struggles with OCD.
