internal thoughted1 refs were Fucking atrocious in 2017 but hopefully with Triplette retiring that helps some. garbage ass refs, game should be played cleanly and fair, but they get wayy too involved interrupting the rhythm of the game on erroneous penalties where it is legitimately convincing that they have money riding on games in Vegas. Refs need to get it together in 2018 but I'm sure it will be worse than ever throwing 5 flags on every play, missing tons of calls, yet calling penalties when they shouldn't like the play you mentioned with the browns vs Bengals. that was textbook!!! even on replay you could see it was clean but the refs Fucking blow. they are so bad its made me question my passion for the game and my team at times because its like why be a fan when your team can just get kicked to the ground by the refs while the other team just coasts. grinds my damn gears

QBs get too much protection from the refs/rules when they run and slide, they wait until the very last moment to slide when a defender is running full tilt at them, they should slide earlier to protect themselves. Defenders shouldn't have to make a split second decision that a QB is going down. The Brady juke of Urlacher is a good example of a defender probably expecting the slide but the QB keeps going.
