One of the biggest lessons learned in the NFL over the past 5 years is that coaching matters more than anything. More than drafts. More than free agency. More than anything. Sean Payton doesn't have a top roster, has a so-so QB, and is in the same division as Mahomes and Herbert. Yet, he's on the verge of making the playoffs. For teams like the Jets, their best path forward would be to develop a coach in-house. Elevate someone like Josh McCown to OC and then elevate him to be the HC.

Raiders fan here. AP has got to be fired. 6 of his 9 wins have been against back up QBs. 7 of the 9 have been against teams with .500 records. So he’s winning against bad teams playing the back up. His game management is terrible, his staff recruitment is terrible and his judge of talent on the roster has been terrible. Would it be harsh to give him 1 year, sure but this isn’t a charity. Tom Brady now has owner control and say. Need a refresh

Colts fan: Here's another thing about Ballard, he refuses to bring in free agents. We were DESPERATE for a safety this year, we didn't even make an offer for Justin Simmons. There are names every offseason and he just doesn't even consider bringing in outside talent. He believes in developing guys, but he keeps drafting bad ones.

Antonio Pierce was given a 2 year deal, as evidenced by the fact that Kingsbury asked for a 3 year deal and was refused. If he was to return he'd probably have to find a new DC as Patrick Graham was offered an extension and turned it down. Who is going to want to be on the staff of an HC who at best will be gone in another year anyways?

Brian Daboll as offense coordinator, yes, head coach no. As head coach, his teams are not prepared and are sloppy. Daboll caused the Giants lose two games maybe three games last year. His decisions in the game are poor. He is not a good head coach. Scheon is a poor GM. Both need to go.

I'm all for cleaning house in Indy. No more, "I like our guys." Nothing has changed in 8 years. Ballard needed to go 2 years ago. Steichen has been over his head as the coach. The fact that he should easily get another head coaching job should make Irsay feel good since he won't have to cover the rest of his contract. Agreed. Raiders have been through a hell of a lot of turnover in coaches the last 10 years. Players like playing for him (for the most part), so let them get the offense built and stabilize the OC position. Oh, and GET A QB FOR F***S SAKE!
