Jackson's hit on Dobbs ended up in his second 4 game suspension this year with no flag on the play. Even as a biased Vikings fan this kind of thing needs to get cleaned up fast.

It would be really interesting if Jackson still would've gotten suspended if that was Mattison running the ball and not Dobbs. Dobbs is a running back at that point and not a QB which means his QB protections are gone.

Okay, I'm just saying, the criteria for hitting a defenseless player is forceable contact to the head, neck, or shoulder area, while the player is making a move that leaves them defenseless. If they're calling UNRs so liberally then i feel like a bunch of these hits on the receivers could or should have been flagged. I'm with the majority of people who hate soft calls in this sport but I think if they're going to have that standard they should apply it for all players.

The LA Seattle punt was NOT early... slowed down to 1/2 speed and it's EXACTLY on time... he hits at the same instance the ball hits the catcher's hands, and he NEVER called for fair catch.

"A player on the kicking team who tackles, bumps or otherwise interferes with the returner before the ball is caught will be penalized." It's literally BEFORE THE BALL IS CAUGHT in the rule book. Hitting just after, is NOT a penalty.

It's a judgement call on when the tackler hit the returner and where the ball was as well when contact was made with the returner.
