LSU's Oline wasnt near as good as people think. Joe got rid of the ball with A++ decision making weekly and he also had such unreal pocket presence and feel that he escaped 4+ pressures a week. Best prospect since Peyton Manning.

@@kalilg2242 But Tua is throwing dimes. There is not a lot of reaching and jumping to catch his throws. Also Burrows shortest receiver is 6"1, he throws a lot of crossing route completion (not a lot of vertical routes) and he is at his best when there are 4 or 5 wideouts on the filed. His deep ball accuracy isn't close to Tua.

@@carlhenry3201 I actually agree. Shortly after this comment I went back and Looked again and Tua is QB1 all day. Burrow was great but his limitations are real and he has to win the same way a Matt Ryan does or Rich Gannon did as a pro.

I was not the greatest athlete or physical specimen in H.S. but I had a decent arm (played shortstop thru Pony Ball) my Dad played QB for Army in the late 50's when he was at West Point and taught me a lot about footwork and then he was our H.S. OC when I was there and I started at QB for three years and watched a LOT of 22 tape and learned to read defenses pretty good...and to my eye, Tua has by far the best foot work and best field of vision and is the most adept at moving defensive players with his eyes compared to the other top QB prospects. If I was a GM, and assuming Tua's medicals checkout, he would be my target.

Hey JT, love the content! As a Pats fan I'm obviously monitoring the Brady situation closely and as a result I've been watching a lot of film on Jarred Stidham. I personally see more than a few similarities in their game based on Stidham's last season at Auburn and his preseason performance in 2019. Do you think this is a valid comparison? Or am I just being a little too hopeful?
@12jswilson
@12jswilson 4 жыл бұрын
I'm obviously not JT. I evaluated Stidham when he was coming out and I didn't like what I saw as some people were hyping him up as potential first rounder. His accuracy was marginal and he was way too slow to get through his reads with questionable decision making and bad pocket presence. Patriots took him where I thought he should go as I had a 4th-5th round grade on him and he went at the end of round 4. He's more of a Ryan Mallett than a Hoyer or Garappolo amongst the million developmental QBs the Patriots have drafted over the years. Ryan Mallett was just dumb though. If Stidham has the smarts to learn he can definitely be better than Mallett as Mallett can't read a menu much less a defense.

He was running a Pro Style offense “saints offense”at LSU no way Burrow will be a bust unless injury or unless Cincy doesn’t give him an OLine..They already have some solid weapons with Mixon Green and Ross so OLine and defense and maybe quit being cheap and get a indoor practice facility and they’ll be 👌

Michael Emery yea the previous year LSU did ok but Joe had to adapt to learn that offense.. The spread LSU went to is what Burrow was more familiar with and that showed drastically but Brady calling the shots definitely deserves credit but even without the strongest arm joe has great poise in the pocket and awareness and is pretty damn accurate so I think he will be solid at the next level my concern is more so the Bengals and it’s crazy that in 2020 a NFL team doesn’t have an indoor practice facility.. they just need to give Joe the pieces and they’ll be a contender in a few years..imo

Michael Emery he threw 63 touchdowns in high school and was the state player of the year, he just needed a chance and his junior year at LSU, the playbook was a ground and pound and he basically doubled his throws and he was in his decision making let it rip system this year

His throwing motion reminds me of Tom Brady. Not saying he’s going to be Brady or anything, just the arm angle looks very similar.

My issue with Barrow is that it seems he looks down his receivers. However, if he is accurate, that is a gift that can't be taught.

I wouldn't complain if Jerry traded up to get this kid and used the money Dak wants to beef up the defense and resign cooper. However, I wouldn't complain if he drafted Patterson either. On another note I came across this video of Ray Lewis talking Tom Brady. It's a must watch. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4mslaxtjc2XpdU

@YDCFF_
@YDCFF_ 4 жыл бұрын
@@420boyyy4 Indeed it is; trading up from a 950 value at 17 to 3000 at 1 or 2600 at 2 would be expensive, but In the long run, that would be cheaper than paying Dak $40 mil a year for the next 5 years. Either way, that's y I offered a reasonable scenario. One could sign proven players with all that cap capital saved by not paying Dak. A lot of times the draft is a crap shoot and Jerry's track record hasn't been too good.

Joe burrow is weird.... like I can see him be a multiple times pro bowler, a consistent top 5 quarter back in the league and even a hall of famer if he gets enough team success.... but I also can see him be the biggest bust of all time It's really weird... he has average traits but can do amazing things with them... really have to see his rookie season to be able to evaluate him and the player he is
@Lloyd2VD

No way he is going to be the "biggest bust of all time". Even if he played badly in his first season. I think you shouldn't overreact. Especially if he does land in Cincinnati
@justno984
@justno984 4 жыл бұрын
@@Lloyd2VD obviously I don't expect him to perform and put up numbers like he put up at lsu in his first season on the Bengals as a rookie... but if he's really this generational talent that they say he is, he should have an immediate impact no matter where he goes.... there's no reason he shouldn't be able to perform at least on the level of a kyler Murray or Daniel jones(obvs without the fumbles😒) in his rookie season on a team that is clearly bad (that's why they got the first pick) but not as bad as people think it is that has some offensive talents that can really help burrow play on that side of the ball Again I don't expect him to be winning games or go to the playoffs... I just want to see if he's able to show the talents that he showed at lsu at least to a certain extent in terms of throwing the football... clearly he can't do anything with that defense so i wouldn't expect him to win a bunch of games I expect the same thing from tua as well... because that's the standard they hold these guys at coming into the draft

Just wait til his average attributes drop back behind that Cinci O line and face NFL pass rushers and defensive backs. Then we will see how great his footwork looks and how accurate those throws are. The talent around him at LSU was top notch. I believe its foolish to grasp at him #1 overall. To expect him to be the savior for that franchise is wishful thinking at best. Tua gonna show who the better prospect is imo...
@justno984
@justno984 4 жыл бұрын
@@ericsnyder5427 I mean again you said it, he does have pretty average traits.... but.... I don't know.... his throws really do look like pro nfl to me... there's something about him that I think is special but is more on the intangible side that we can't quite grasp just watching on the tv.... I don't know tho we have to wait and see... I expect him to win rookie of the Year or at least be in that conversation You right tho tua does seem more talented physically in face value I think he can be a good quarter back in the NFL if he doesn't get any major injuries I also really like Justin Herbert and Jordan love because if we're talking about just true talent level Herbert and love destroy tua and burrow imo and if I had to say who'll be a better QB at the pro level I'd put my money on those two rather than tua and burrow... just an opinion🤷‍♂️
