Everyone the Jets interview, turns them down as soon as the interview is finished, hence the non-stop list. 🤣

The argument that you have to face other AFC WEST coaches as some negative is silly. Any potential coach worth anything isn’t worried about that. Media created argument.

unless the owner has a reputation for firing HC's quickly...that factors in when you KNOW you're starting at a disadvantage and you WILL lose often the first couple years

I mean, if you’re a coach in the Raiders position, roster wise, and ownership wise, that kinda thing matters. Because unless you can convince the owner to stop being impatient until the roster can actually get built in the image you wanted. You will likely be searching for your next job, before you manage to get 3 wins, just in your division. Which means you stand no chance of winning the division, and a very slim chance of climbing out of 4th place, before getting fired. So, yeah, that kind of thing actually does matter.

If that’s the argument then Jags HC job is the most desirable. NFC North just sent the packers, lions a 14 win Vikings team to the playoffs. But you’re right, any coach afraid to Coach in the AFC West shouldn’t be a HC anyways.

Still a fact whether Raiders fans like it or not. Established and hot upcoming coaches look at that. As well as the fact that all of the other 3 teams have a QB. The ones that will take the job are those passed over on other openings. But they still could hit on one like Washington did last year, when every other team passed on Quin.

The Chicago Bears have said "hold my beer" to the New York Jets when it comes to the head coaching interviews, I believe they are at 22 or 24 already and have couple or several scheduled for this weekend that they need to go thru. Heard Dave Wanstedt on radio, he claimed to have talked to someone that has insight on the search and the 3 finalist for the Saints job are McCarthy, Joe Brady and the current interim coach, Glenn is the 4th choice, with Joe Brady being interesting case, as he and Sean Payton supposedly had a BIG falling out at the end of his time there, so will Sean Payton try to sabotage Joe Brady's chances.....

Why would Ben leave Detroit, good situation and a great coach to learn under.

Because already proven to be good coordinators, can always get another job as a coordinator again, no matter how badly of a situation it is when they get fired as a head coach. But it doesn’t matter how great your record is, even as a head coach, that doesn’t mean that there will be an opening for you in the next coaching carousel. Prime example being, Bill Belichick. The greatest Super Bowl winning head coach in the history of the sport, is currently coaching in college today, and it’s been over a year since he got let go. If that guy can’t get a head coaching job, you should take that as all evidence needed to verify that it’s very hard to get one of those opportunities. If you have the opportunity, you better take it. Even if it goes badly, that might be your only opportunity. If you’ve already proven to be a capable coordinator, you won’t have to worry about getting another chance to do that. You’ll have teams lined up to bring you in.

If Ben Johnson can hold on and stay relevant for one more year, it may be the best thing. The changes after next season could include Dolphins Giants 49ers Bengals Steelers Browns Colts Cardinals Titans What if Bills flame out and they make a change? All that is certainly not going to happen but you can make a case!

The Rooney Rule is a joke. Listen to the candidates being discussed. Belichick has a job with North Carolina but still a leading candidate over most, certainly over any black coach. Gruden is being discussed over and black candidates including Deion Sanders. They have Ben Johnson qualifying for every available position. Rooney Rule schmooney rule.

This narrative about the raiders not having talent on their roster is fucking laughable. Their roster is hands down better than most of the teams in this cycle. 2nd youngest team in the nfl, with the 2nd most injured players in the league, yet were still competitive all the way down the stretch. Looking at the record and saying "they dont have a qb = roster bad" is reductive and dumb. 😂

They have some talent. The most important position lacks talent. The lack of talent there supersedes any talent at other positions. That’s just the truth, especially when you want to hire an offensive guy.
