As a Colts fan... I can never quit watching a game early. No lead is safe and no deficit is too large. Down 38-10 vs Chiefs and 21-0 vs Cincy and won both, but led 22-3 at Baltimore and 33-0 at Minnesota and lost both.

The wildest thing about that Vikings comeback is that all the points scored in the comeback were based off of pure offensive talent and grit. Don’t get me wrong, the defense was impressive with ONLY giving up THREE POINTS in 2 quarters, but to have only offensive scores to get that comeback is incredible.

Makes it even worse for Giants fans that A) The HC told the punter to kick the punt out of bounds to prevent this exact thing (this is why he’s seen yelling at the punter after the return) and B) The loss prevented the Giants from making the post season that year.

43:21 I was at this game. It was my very first Vikings game. Almost left at halftime when we were down 33-0 but my conscience told me to stay, plus I was with my mom side of the family and boy am I glad I didn’t leave. From what I’ve heard people were still trying to get back into the stadium when we tied it up(although I can’t say for sure to this day if the people that left ever got back in), even the local news people were talking about it too. With that said, it was my first game, and definitely not my last, but was almost gonna be my last. Oh, and I got an NFC North champ’s hoodie The next day Edit: I could probably say that Matt Ryan had those SB51 flashbacks afterwards

I said something to my friend when we were up 33-0 and this fcker says "you never know, they could come back". Then these fckers pull off the greatest comeback in NFL history. I mean, who looks at a football score that's 33-0 and thinks "they can comeback still"? The fact that they said this and then they pull it off still haunts me.

The funny thing about the Browns comeback in 2014 is that game was week 5 and in week 1 the Browns were down 27-3 on the road to the Steelers, came back to tie it and then lost on a last second field goal. They almost pulled off 24 and 25 point comebacks in 2 of their first 4 games
@tfofgaming3413

I remember that one. The face-kick game when AB kicked the punter in the face. I pointed at the screen and said "that sums up the game so far." Then came the magical "hurry up offense" and Pittsburgh couldn't keep up. Unfortunately Cleveland got tired from all the fast offense and all the Steelers had to do was jog down the field and get the free FG. Still got me excited for the season, even if that season was a disappointment in the end.

@@tfofgaming3413I’m not a Browns fan (Patriots) but I do remember that 2014 season with Mike Pettine as their head coach and I really thought they were going to make the playoffs that year when they were 7-4 and in position to win the AFC North that year. Then everything just fell apart on them and it led to a decline for a few years afterwards but at least the playoff drought finally got broken in 2020 and they made the playoffs in 2023 as well. Looks like bare minimum they have the stability with their head coach Kevin Stefanski and GM Andrew Barry.

Last Season for Minnesota is one of the wildest seasons a team has ever had. 9 come from behind victories, the double-doink to beat NO in London, the game in Buffalo with possibly the greatest catch of all time on 4th-18, the fumble recovery in the end zone with 30 seconds left, buffalo comes right back and ties it, and Minnesota wins with an OT interception, the crazy comeback against Washington, and this game. Finished 13-4 having the #10 scoring offense and the 31st ranked defense and had a negative point differential. It’s as if the season was just purely run on luck/magic.
@reidcraig3739
@reidcraig3739 5 ай бұрын
Even as a Colts fan it was tough to watch the collapse last year. I will say when you said the points and defense ranks. In my opinion there are a lot of similarities between the 2022 Vikings and the 2012 Colts In 2012, the Colts drafted Andrew Luck and they went 11-5 on the year. No they did not win the division like Minnesota and instead were a wild card team. However in their 11 wins, 9 of them were decided by a single possession with 7 of them coming on 4th quarter come from behind victory. Like Minnesota, they finished with a negative in points allowed (-30) and football outsiders calculated that 2012 Colts team as the worst team to go 11-5

People want to blame QBs and the offense for these comebacks, but unless they're turning the ball over something fierce, it's not on them. The defenses need to do their jobs. Tampa Bay in 2021 had a 35-3 halftime lead on the Bears, and they only put up a single FG the entire 2nd half. But they still won 38-3. And it wasn't because of Brady and the offense that they held on, it was because the defense shut Chicago out.

Joe Buck in that 2011 Lions comeback sounded half awake LOL.

Troy and Buck both thought the Cowboys had another play when it was fourth and 20 and they only got 7 yards. Good thing he went out of bounds gave himself another play. He had to tackle to give the Cowboys another chance LMFAO what a great way to commentate.

Not only was the vikings comeback the largest ever, the refs ruled out 2 touchdowns from them

Another underrated aspect of that comeback was the fact that Indianapolis still made their share of plays in the second half, granted not nearly as many as in the first half but they had their share of their first downs still and had an interception in the 4th quarter. Literally everything that could’ve went against Minnesota was, even in the middle of their rally which to me makes that comeback that much more special. (I’m saying this as a Patriots fan who witnessed the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history)

I got a question for some people who chokes more the falcons or the chargers?
@lakerskid2013
@lakerskid2013 2 ай бұрын
I think the Falcons do more in individual games, but as far as season expectations the Chargers do that more. Of course the Chargers just took choking to a whole new level once they blew that 27 point lead in the playoffs to Jacksonville

@@martavion873 I’ve been a Patriots fan since I started following sports in 2003 (was 8 years old at the time) and before they made that comeback to Atlanta, I was actually starting to congratulate them on their first Super Bowl title ever. Even as great as Tom Brady was, I didn’t think it was possible until the Matt Ryan fumble when it was 28-12 but then I thought it was over again when Julio Jones made that sideline catch when it was 28-20 because I was thinking at that time, “Here we go again with crazy catches happening again in the Super Bowl against New England.” Thankfully it didn’t amount to anything but I remember that I was watching that game at a friend’s house and some others were there all cheering the Falcons because they hate the Patriots and they were all stunned when New England won that game.

Not in this video because it happened in 1987 but I saw live what is still the largest 4th quarter comeback in NFL history. Down 28-3 to the Bucs, Neil Lomax and my hard luck Cardinals scored 28 unanswered 4th quarter points to win 31-28.
@lakerskid2013
@lakerskid2013 2 ай бұрын
The original 28-3 and also the 2014 version seems to be forgotten about as well because it involved the Browns (who had a surprisingly good year until they collapsed the last 5 games) and a terrible Titans team who yanked for Marcus Mariota.
