NFL on CBS Theme (1990-92)

After seeing someone on KZbin upload some 1990-era NFL on CBS games, I was inspired to stitch this little ditty together. Based on on-air clips on KZbin (withholding the name of said KZbin account since I don't want his game broadcasts to get taken down), this is as close as I can come to an authentic sounding version of the NFL on CBS theme used from 1990-1992. You'll probably notice an edit point or two and some differences in audio quality, again, because these are snippets of the theme's use on the air (i.e. on "The NFL Today", NFL game coverage, Super Bowl game coverage, etc.), but I hope you enjoy it nevertheless.
The theme has been described by some as "uninspired" which may be a bit harsh. Is it as good as the "Pots & Pans" style themes that preceded it? No. Is it as good as the Frankie Vinci penned themes that followed it? No. But, in the full as heard during Super Bowl XXIV, it's not a bad piece of music. If only it were in the full and in the clear...
No challenge to ownership is implied with this video...just showing some love to the days when NFL coverage was markedly better.

I thought this was catchy and very nostalgic of the pop theme music from video games and sports of this period, from the 80s and 90s, which has special sentimental value for me and makes me think of old friends who I spent so much time with.

This is awesome! Thanks for posting this awesome theme from the NFL on CBS. I'm brazilian, and I fell in love for american football and since the age of 15-16 I've been looking for videos of old american football games. I first heard this theme on the Super Bowl XXIV intro on YT, and I gotta say that this theme rocks! One question though: Do you have the 1989 version of Pots and Pans? This is a really awesome theme as well.

I never cared for this. It's too...sterile, antiseptic. And I think I have a negative association of it and the polarity in the NFL standings of the late 80s through mid 90s. I suppose if you're a Giants, Redskins, 49ers, Cowboys, Broncos, or Bills fan you may feel differently.

I've gotta be honest with you-- I've never cared all that much for today's CBS College Football music either (as it was used first for normal college football, then for the SEC on CBS, and now later to be used for the Big Ten on CBS); personally, I felt (and still do feel) that the 1984-86 game theme music was far better (and that the NCAA Today studio show music was far superior as well [especially in the cut of it that was used for Don Robertson's sponsor read on The Prudential College Football Report with Jim Nantz in 1985 and 1986]).
