I don’t why people think they can sing a national anthem the way they want it? They butchered it. A national anthem isn’t one of your records that you can sing it’s the song of the country and there should only be one way to sing it and it’s traditional way. They should have just called Beyoncé. Still no one can beat how Whitney Houston sang it.
@michaelmcgovern68824 жыл бұрын
I love the feeling of patriotic pride I get when I am singing the national anthem. But I get frustrated when my sing-a-long joy is thwarted by the person with the microphone going off on an " impossible to follow" tangent that silences those who love to sing along in our hearts, and on our lips..

Even though a lot of people are saying they could have easily performed this by themselves (particularly Ms. Jazmine) I genuinely believe this was planned and done on purpose in hopes of mending this broken country of ours together. By pairing these two very different artists, you promote this sense of unity for two completely different genres of music that have strong ties to opposite ends of the cultural spectrum in this country, and for that reason, I found this rendition to be beautiful beyond description. Try to look at this situation through different lenses and I promise you, you will view this collab in a more optimistic light. This performance was intended to unify us. Not divide us even further.

Just replayed this about 10 times. I’ve lived a long time and have developed a love of all music, country, r & b, soul, gospel, blues, hard rock and so on, so I can appreciate the complexity of combining these two totally different sounds and having it result in one of the most beautiful renditions in a long, long time. I believe it was a well thought out decision to put these two together to form a blending of the nation. Music soothes the savage beast, prayerfully this 2 minutes and 34 seconds can add to the smoothing our nation.

Coming from a Eric Church fan since the Sinners Like Me era when he was playing at small joints to county fairs to pavilions to sold out arenas it is just so awesome to see him get the recognition and to have come this far. With that being said, Erics strength isnt vocal range its more style as he put it. What draws me to him is the genuine humble integrity is in his lyrics and his voice he has a way of drawing you in and feel the songs. It's more so relatability and he is a damn good entertainer. Puts on one hell of a show. Hes not your typical watered down bro country kind of singer that's radio friendly. He actually has artistic music and he told the establishment I'm going to do it my way and he put his career on the line to do so. Also it was awesome to see a country star mesh with an R&B artist with their similar roots of blues.

Adding some ornamentation and riff here and there making it your own is fine and on a stage like this almost expected. However, when you change the melody and make the song almost unrecognizable then you’ve gone too far. I mean it was a great performance from two very talented people. However, as far as national anthem performances it was not a good rendition.
