Just looking at someone run and out run the people on the that field is not measuring it because you can't compare it to guys 20-30 years ago or guys 20 or 30 years from now. If you look at Tyreek Hill to day and see him out run players on the field and then look at Willie Gault or Ron Brown and see them out run players on the field. Then go back to watch Bob Hayes out run players on the field. Who runs the fastest? You don't know because you are not measuring them. You are just watching them and using your opinion. Speed is not an opinion. It is measurable and provable just like height and weight.

@@Mooknu1992 The coaches and players used to say that he was last practice and first to leave when he was with the Falcons. That changed when he got out of prison and joined the Eagles though.. But he was already out of his prime by then and didn't throw a ball for 2 years. Hes one of my personal favorite players of all time and i have a few jerseys of his that are signed, but the fact of the matter is that he wasn't the hardest working man on the team. He no doubt worked hard hia whole life but could've worked harder AND stayed away from dog fighting and been one of the best ever. Lamar Jackson is a great example of how Vick SHOULD'VE went about hia early career. Lamar works hard by the fact that hes first to practice and last to leave. Thats why he broke Vicks ruahing record and is already throwing the ball like Vick was in Philly .. You do the math

In game speed to me is completely different which is why I have Devin Hester (poor performance in the combine) on my list. Advanced Everything You do know that some world class sprinters played in the NFL. If this list was based strictly off of speed more than half of the players on it wouldn't have made it. Including Vick. The only reason that are on the list is because they had great careers. There are/were players with not so great careers that were MUCH faster.

Neither was/is even close to mentioning in the fastest players ever. Vick may have been the fastest QB ever, but he was not in the top 50 fastest players of all time. I can easily name 50 players that would beat Vick in a goal line to goal line race. That list would include the 25+ world class sprinters that played in the NFL.

The actual fastest guys do not reach top speed till about 50m out. They are still accelerating at the 40yd mark. So the 40 cannot possibly determine who is the fastest, especially when they aren't even running their fastest. It's like using a 250lb scale to weigh the heaviest players. The 40 can determine who is the quickest, but not the fastest. Last time I checked, top speed was part of how fast you are. That said, there are more than 70 players who could outrun CJ in a REAL race, the 100m. All times are verified fully automatic timing by World Athletics. Would you like to see the list?
