@@TCKG1 Texans defense is the reason why Goff struggled. They picked off the NFC QBS(Goff, Love and Caleb) 10 times. What hurt the Texans is not being able to score in the second half of most of their games this season.

The three picks in the first half were two tips and a hail mary. The 4th pick was a bad decision and the pass came up short. The 5th pick was a timing route where the TE didn't turn in time. Goff will be fine.

The offensive line wasn't playing up to their standards ( penei Sewell actually didn't play well in the first half - a shocker ) but everyone got their MOJO back in the second half

One could make the argument that only one of the picks was on Goff. The 1st was a fluke (tipped ball), the second was Sewell got beat (a rarity) and Hunter caused the bad throw (technically an interception, but could have been ruled a strip fumble). The third was a Hail Mary with no time on the clock. In the second half, the 4th interception, it looked like Jamo and Goff weren’t on the same page. On the fifth one, it looked like LaPorta didn’t get his head around fast enough and it sailed over his head into the hands of the defender. The only one solely on him was the Hail Mary into triple coverage. Houston played a great game to stop both the passing attack and the running game of Detroit. Fortunately, the Lion’s D stepped it up in the 2nd half and Detroit’s offense played great in the 4th quarter.

Agreed up until you said the hail Mary was his fault. That’s one that WASN’T his fault. That was a couple seconds left before halftime and just putting up something to get points. The J-Mo one was the only one that was his fault.

@ I think we’re splitting hairs here. The main point is that Goff’s stat line looked worse than it was. He’s going to be fine, we’re going to be fine. The next few games will be an opportunity for him to run up the stats and compete with Lamar for MVP. Winning, of course, is all that matters. Go Lions!!

Funny how people are saying Goff and the coaching staff said he played a good game just unfortunate luck. Yet the media says he played awful. Seemed like the balls he threw on the ground were just to get rid of it to avoid intentional grounding. Goff seems fine, MCDC seems fine, we’ll be fine.

Really? Are they in trouble after stinking up Sunday night footbal?l First off it was an excellent game. Second off neither one of the guys was particularly sharp tonight but neither one of these guys continually does this game in and game out so to say they stunk up the game is a bit of a stretch don't you think? Two of them were tipped passes one of them was a hail Mary so he had two legit straight off pickoffs and so did Stroud so no they'll both be fine especially once all the injured players come back for both sides but champions find a way to win which is exactly what golf did and exactly who he is!

Situationaly Goff wasnt the problem on every pick. Pressure and tipped passes at the line brought em down then he started hucking the ball poorly down field looking for a quick score. Goff definitely played a bad game. Watching the game he threw the ball into the dirt it felt like a dozen times because of pressures. Houstons defense looked crazy fast. All in all crazy game

nah, goff twisted his ankle in the prior game and their all pro left tackle taylor decker was out with an injury. his replacement (dan skipper) is basically practice-squad level.

Honestly i don't think Ben Johnson is too anxious to become a Head coach. I don't think he wants to deal with the headaches of being a head coach. he likes being an OC, getting in the lab and drawing up new plays .i'm not saying he won't be a head coach but imo. he wants to ride the Lions wagon as long as they are on top
