I can promise you guys that Matt Rhule sees himself as more of a defensive coach than offensive. I know Baylor spent almost a decade building a brand being known for offense. I get the confusion. But that was Art Briles. When Rhule arrived he was very excited to try and bring a legit defense to the Big 12 to counter those offenses. The strength of Baylor in 2019 was the defense. Rhule is a defensive coach.

It’s because Okudah was a no brainer, teams are getting more credit for making great decisions when it wasn’t so clear. But at the end of the day Detroit still improved more. Swift is bonafide. And please by all means sleep on Mr. Julian Okwara. It felt like Detroit deviated from talent selections after the Jackson pick and went with character/fit guys TBH. Richard Medlock that wrong tackle never gave up 2 pressures in a single game. Fromm never got hit while he was a tackle. The McKinney and Holmes pick will sure up the secondary, Stfu. Jones had a 2:1 td:int ratio and yes he needs to clean up fumbles, but Thomas, Peart, and Lemieux will help.

Richard Medlock yeah it makes a lot of sense to bash someone after they’re rookie season. Yes he has a fumbling issue but this is something that he can easily prove on. Carson Wentz and Lamar each had fumbling issues and yet they’re recognized as pretty good quarterbacks in this league. And how on earth did they take the wrong tackle? If you actually watched the film, you’d know that he’s the best left tackle in the draft and this was a safe pick with a lot of upside. The defense is not great yet by any means but they did get an absolute steal in the second round with Xavier McKinney (as well as Darnay Holmes in the 4th) and with the versatility throughout their secondary (Jabrill Peppers, McKinney, Julian Love, James Bradberry, Baker), as well as their potential franchise linebacker in Ryan Connelly coming back, as well as a whole new coaching staff, as well as a young defensive line with great interior lineman and young edge rushers destined to have breakout season, they do indeed have the potential to do great things.
