It’s roots are the same as the early Olympics where wealthy ppl didn’t want to have to compete in sporting events against poor ppl. They could afford to compete for free & knew that taking the money out of it would prevent most working class ppl from competing. Vontae Davis shows raw emotion, be it or not an irresponsible personal foul, he showed grit, only to be met with silence and negative marks from his math teacher/head coach. This was a perfect learning opportunity. Imagine how BFlores would've handled this. Philbin comes off as clinically depressed, which is understandable because his son just committed suicide and he isn't good at dealing with people. Management needs to be on top of these things. Then they keep spewing bullshit in the meeting room. That meeting could be over before they even sit down, but they gotta drag it out cause it's stupid to ask someone to come to your office for one sentence. Imo, they shouldn't make a big deal out of it. Just rip the bandaid off quick and give the guy a break to process it before you tell him what to improve.

Im a Dolphins fan & for those asking or wondering, Joe Philbins problem was that the guy simply was NOT a motivator. He also was not relatable and had zero personality. He'd have team meetings and guys would just kinda sorta tune him out. Add to the fact later on he got into a power struggle with then GM Jeff Ireland, the guy who initially hired him btw. Im sure you guys know the history of the many success stories of divided houses. Also in 2014 Philbin tried to sabotage Tannehills career & pushed Ireland's replacement to draft Derek Carr, which we now know would have made zero difference. Tannehill eventually was exposed as NOT a franchise guy, but by then the Dolphins would go on to waste 7 perfectly good seasons in finding a suitable replacement, but thats another story. That my friends is the tale of Joe Philbin and Ryan Tannehill
@anthonymendez19974 жыл бұрын
As a Dolphins fan, would you say that Adam Gase was better than Joe Philbin?
@danielvazquez37154 жыл бұрын
@@anthonymendez1997 Have you seen the teams record? Lol....As a football mind? Yes. But As a coach, he was a pompous a$$ who thought he knew it all, but players at least tolerated him. Had one really good season his first year, & then fell off the map. Disrespectful to the owner, stubbornly hitched his wagon to Tannehill, even though it was clear to anyone with eyes, that after 7 seasons "hmm... gee Adam, he might not be the guy" and he at least needed SOME/ANY competition. At the end didn't want to fully commit to the current rebuild which was sorely needed because he & Tannenbaum didn't help much in the draft department. His solution? Trade a 1st Round pick to Detroit for Matthew Stafford (could you imagine?) Never happened obviously Also again Stephen Ross who is a good owner, but has a bad history of listening to the wrong people and is loyal to a fault wanted him gone....Side note when the guy that's famously stubborn at keeping people he shouldn't (Jeff Ireland, Joe Philbin, Mike Tannenbaum, Ryan Tannehill) wants you gone thats an 👁 opener In summary, a better OC than HC. He rubbed people (Jordan Phillips, Jarvis Landry) the wrong way...Philbin was just boring and Vanilla. Neither was a good HC candidate. Also Gase may be a little bit on the spectrum.
@anthonymendez19974 жыл бұрын
Daniel Vazquez Hey, I just wanted your honest opinion comparing Adam Gase and Joe Philbin. The Dolphins have been one of the most poorly managed and coached teams in the NFL for a while, even going back to Joe Philbin. The prime examples of Miami’s incompetence include just how Tannehill improved in Tennessee, how Minkah Fitzpatrick improved in Pittsburgh, and how Kenyan Drake improved in Arizona. All three were on the Dolphins roster. I have confidence that Flores will turn things around, but the disaster of Miami stems from Philbin, Gase, Ireland, and Tannenbaum.
@danielvazquez37154 жыл бұрын
@@anthonymendez1997 Yes, hopefully I have given that to you. Maybe a little more than info you initially wanted lol... I'll give you Drake & Fitzpatrick. Honestly Flores handled those 2 poorly, but I get it, it's his show and he wants things ran a certain way (creating a culture) & they didn't want to get on board... gone. Tannehill I wouldn't say got better, he just didn't do anything to hurt the Titans, granted the offense flows through the running game so it's easier for him to manage which wasn't the case in Miami. They wanted him to be the franchise guy. IMO, he's a high end backup. A guy you want if your starter goes down and you need someone to finish the game. He's NOT a starter though & after 7 years it was just time for a change. Good guy though, im rooting for him The Dolphins issues aren't much different from other bad teams, (bad coaches/poor drafting) they've just been worse at it than most. The owner cares, & wants to win and is willing to spend. They've just never had a real culture down here since Don Shula was coach RIP and that's what they're trying to build now. Time will tell

Going back and watching this as a lifelong 49 yr old Dolphin fan, angers me even more. The show trying to make Philbin look like a perfectionist because he is picking up wrappers on the field. You really think Belichick is walking around picking up trash. He has people to do that and if any little piece of trash is on the ground people get fired. Deligate. Plus how can you trust a man that doesn't look you in the eye when he is talking to you. Man this franchise has put us fans through a lot. More than we deserve.

Reggie was Dope on The Lions. He definitely was A Leader on The Lions and had the best 3 years of His career. Lions were Good all 3 of those seasons having a RB Never as Good as they would have been had Jahvid Best been able to play & have a career and learn to not catch Himself with His head when hitting the turf. The Lions were undefeated 6-0 when Best played and like 10-1 for His career He made such A difference with that speed as A Legit threat RB for Stafford & MEGATRON How The Lions did not go out and get A Real threat for them is still beyond making any sense @ all Didn’t even make cents neither Reggie was legit but not that next level explosive threat out of the backfield He was most definitely the best threat Lions had since Best didnt know how to go down safely with all that speed . Bummer We really need to see Lions in The SuperB🦉 LG 🦁

Although he wasn’t the best head coach I do like how Coach Philben handled the Vontae Davis vs Steve Smith lil fight. Instead of going off he asked what happened and just said “alright.”

Wow this really exposed Philbin. I honestly think he's top10 worst coaches ever. He doesn't make guys wanna really make plays for him. He just doesn't have the right personality to be a head coach in the NFL
