Holds tight end record for career games played with 271. He's only 8 and not higher due to being a possession receiver as opposed to a weapon. 9. Charlie Sanders: Had great hands and made great acrobatic catches. Furthered evolved the position from Ditka by adding the athletic elements. The early the prototype, the first real athlete at tight end, Sanders was even nicknamed "Charlie Deep" 10. Mike Ditka: The pioneer of the position. NOPE That'd be Tony G. Gronk was dominant for a stretch, but wasn't dominant for as long, and Kelce is very well on his way to surpassing Gronk in a lot of record categories. Gronk has beaten his body so bad that he probably plays another 3 years (if he's lucky) Kelce on the other hand could easily play into his late 30s and still be productive. Just going off of how each guy takes care of their body. Gronk takes care of himself now, but has done way too much irreversible damage.
