I'm saying this with zero playing or coaching experience so just take it from a grain of salt. Also, I can't imagine professionals who see game tape and know all the tells on the field. We watched it in his room on a tiny black and white, off of the antenna signal only. It was all scrambled in parts but you could still see it…that’s what amazes me about these games. You forget that people are watching all over the country and the world. I love watching these old games uploaded to KZbin. I love seeing the staton breaks. You see an ad for a TV station in a small town in Maine or North Dakota. I like to look up those station’s cities and seeing the population. The smaller the better. I just imagine a family with small children like I was at the time or a older retiree with his wife in the middle of nowhere on a stormy day, coming in off the back porch, stomping the snowy dirt off his shoes to watch the same game off of an old antenna or a satellite signal like how I’m watching in busy California.

Unfortunately though I would assume it doesn’t make up for the fact they still didn’t win the Super Bowl after this
@danwesche92662 жыл бұрын
@@RYMAN1321 Ehh, at that point it was their third straight Super Bowl and I was like 12 years old, I didn't understand fully. I was also a Syracuse basketball and football fan and a Knicks fan, all teams that were at the very top level of competition in the late 80s and throughout the 90s but never got over the hump. I was very much committed to teams that got so close, but fell just short.

This, and the music city miracle gives this rivalry some good history. Edit: Im talking about the titans. It's the same case when the Steelers-Browns rivalry turned into the Ravens-Steelers rivalry after the browns relocated in 96.

This one still hurts! From '91-'93, the Oilers were good enough to make and even win the SuperBowl...What could go wrong did go wrong! Heart breaking playoff loses..'91 vs Denver, blew a 21-3 lead and lost 26-24. '92 vs Buffalo, blew a 35-3 lead and lost 41-38. '93 vs Kansas City, (in the Astrodome) blew a 10-0 lead. lost 28-20. 😢

I watched that game live on TV, even as a Houstonian, we knew then (and now) that most Houston pro teams "choke" at critical times. This loss came as no surprise to me. The beginning of the end of the Oilers before they packed up and moved to Nashville to become the Titans.

Ah, the good ole days, when an 8 point lead was still a 2 possession game so the Bills, down 35-24, went for it on 4th & 5 instead of kicking a field goal.

I remember watching this game live and started watching it at halftime right around the time the Oilers had a 32 point lead on the Bills. I still remember my father telling me that the Bills could comeback and win as long they can get some stops and start scoring since they do a no huddle offense. I laughed because I said there's no way they're gonna comeback from a lead like that, even if they score, it would only be a matter of time before the Oilers scored again and than they only had 2 quarters to do it. So basically I thought it was impossible. But little did I know, my father was right. Lol This was the greatest comeback I ever witnessed and i'll never forget it. To be able to witness history that day and these were some good times.
