NFS Unbound Gameplay With Reduced Anime Effects

Some of the common questions being asked is can you turn off "anime" or "cartoon" effects. Here are the real answers, no you cannot completely turn them off.
However you can equip something called "Cloaked" effects which have reduced effects compared to others. You will still get the cartoon smoke unfortunately.

@Inner Arts uhm, well, to be fair, the graphics are improved, the physics is tweaked, we finally have a grip handling option, cel-shaded effects are just a bonus. Yeah, it could be called Heat 2.0, but imho it isn't a bad thing, they just improved what had to be improved. As for ASAP Rocky - I mean, to each their own. He is very popular though.

I think that the cloaked effect is making it way better. What bothers me is no smoke from tires. I must say that I hoped for really good smoke effect with realistic behaviour and less repeatable look (as it happens in many racing games). But yeah, cloaked effect is fine.

Although the effects can only be mitigated I really dont see the reason for me to turn them off of have the cloaked variant. Ive been playing racing games and nfs titles for a long time and this is just my type of shit, the boost is now a literal drug where when you scratch that itch the game fucking sends you into this SURGE. I don't really mind the driving effects tbh, not super intrusive and is an optional way to express the player's color palette more. Mine is personally the red and purple ones (favorite colors) but thankfully the Cloaked effect is present.

I personally liked the vfx, but the choices are pretty limited. They should take inspiration from japanese arcade games, like tekken, wangan midnight, intialD, they have all kinds of customizations! Aura, different neon styles, UI customizations, scoreboard name customizations, and many more! But in unbound it's all limited to graffiti that looks more so the same.

If they bit the bullet and made the whole game cartoony then it would be nicer but as it is it just looks out of place and really ugly. Plus it doesn't really even leave a smoke trail, it's just an object that spawns behind your car which feels really underwhelming.

From my understanding..No. This "cloaked" effect is the minimum you can set. 😥 Not for me I'm sorry. I guess by the time I get a PS5 maybe I'll buy the game on special, hopefully with an update to turn these effects OFF completely.. 🤣👍

Turning brake to drift is a gem in itself, and you're missing out all over Character models and effects that can be cloaked. This is need for speed not sims 😂
