The difference is the lacrosse goal still uses the stick and follows the rules for scoring. You can't head or throw a puck into the opposing team's net.

@@juliefoster38 I think the reason they don't allow it is based on safety. They likely dont want to see injuries caused by jumping into it and being knocked off balance in mid-air. If multiple people try that for the same puck, it could lead to head injuries, be it by someone colliding heads or a player attempting to hit it with their stick.
