Jordan Greenway led up a huge game from the offence with two goals and an assist and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 33 saves to record his fourth shutout of the season as the Buffalo Sabres trounced the Los Angeles Kings 7-0.

I saw a lot of people saying that the Kings were back after the shutout win against Edmonton on Saturday. I was hesitant, however, as I knew what this team was capable of doing; and that was disappointing on a consistent basis. I'd need a couple weeks of solid performance before I could realistically say that this team had regained it's form, and now here we are, after the Kings get embarrassed once again, by a team they absolutely should've been able to beat, or at the very least put up a solid fight against. It's one step forward, two steps back for this team, and as a fan, I'm numb to it at this point. It's inertia, I suppose. It's just a little crazy to me, that a team like Buffalo can bring this kind of effort in a half empty arena, while being firmly out of a playoff spot, while the Kings, who are barely hanging onto a playoff spot, leave their skates at home after a huge win against a division rival. It's not only embarrassing, but completely unacceptable from a team with this much talent. If I showed this game to someone who knew nothing about hockey, they'd rightfully assume that the Sabres are a playoff team, and the Kings sit somewhere at the bottom of the league. That would be rational assumption, and honestly, what I'm hoping will come to fruition. This team won't wake up until they completely fall out of a playoff spot. Only then, will it finally become clear that they don't deserve it, and that they actually have to put in the work if they want to succeed. The season isn't over, but with each game it gets closer and closer to that being the case. This was a statement game for the Kings, and it was, for the wrong reason. If they don't finish the road trip strong, then who knows what will happen, because if it were up to me, I'd pull the plug now. Blake already did by not grabbing an NHL head coach to fill McClellan's shoes. He already blatantly said he doesn't have faith in this team with that decision, and I hope his tenure ends as well after the season ends. Too many poor decisions for me to justifiably say he's the right guy. Anyway, that's how I feel about this team right now. I wanted to vent my frustration here. I desperately hope this team figures it out.

As another kings fan, it’s more frustrating because they were one of the best teams in the nhl at the start of the season. So why can’t the kings just play the same way? Their obviously capable, we all saw it.

@@Laisbetter_yus Yes. That's easily thr most frustrating thing. It's funny, because over that 19-7-4 stretch, they're schedule was quite difficult. Now, I'd say it definitely eased up, but they're play deteriorated significantly. I don't know what the solution is for this team, but I don't believe that Jim Hiller is it. There's a reason he's been an assistant coach his entire career.

From a neutral view i think there coach never was the problem. Mclellan was a good coach and st the begin of the season he showed me with his team quality's hockey. I never could've have believed that the kings get 7 goals - tonight they got. Buffalo isn't nit a bad team, s team with talented players. Big what the king shivers all tonight was a shame... There have to be some guys changed snd a need top coach has to be signed too.

The management has troubles..hiring an assistant coach present for all the losing thinking this will turn things around. Drew’s pass in front of his own goalie..Sabres score..after inadvertently letting in first goal..reflects continuing chaos for this Kings team. It’s too bad.

Kings have no star players who can create plays. Spent majority of game one step behind. Sabres were skating to front of the net with no kings around. Kopi and Drew are worn out and nobody to pick up the slack. Dont see a way to fix the glaring issues.
