Nothing I like better than to see a Leaf collapse at home. Reilly again and again is unable to check journeymen forwards on the left side. He handles the puck well on the power play and so forth as this is his strength. Someone who handles the puck well usually has a shorter stick and I noticed that Reilly's stick is extremely short for reaching out and checking someone. Great defense men in the past Scott Stevens...Savard...Lapointe all had much longer sticks than Reilly. Perhaps he should compromise use a shorter stick for PP and and a touch longer even strength. Just a thought from a formed Bantam AAA coach. Players of his status usually do not listen to NHL coaches let alone me, so I'm sure my observations are for nothing and he will continue to hurt the Leafs defensively.

When Toronto's top 4 players are collectively -9, you can expect results like this. EVERYONE'S going gaga over Mathews 28 goals and 42 points in 31 games, but he's only +4. He shoots the puck and is a goal scoring machine but that is it. He doesn't rag the puck, use his big frame to punish anyone and he doesn't care about defending. He is blessed Marner is on his line assisting on 40% of his goals. I really don't think the big lug cares enough.

More fumbles by Mathews that leads to goal against (both first 2 goals for the Sens.). He often causes turn overs that leads to goals for the other team. I've watched every replay of the Leafs for the past 4-5 years and he often seem to loose the puck leaving the defense very exposed. It's hard to justify his insane salary in my opinion. Until the Leafs at least get to a Stanley Cup final... I'll consider him overpaid!

You only see the replays, maybe that's why. He does a lot on the ice other than the goals. Yes he commits mistakes, but he is always active, and helps a whole lot on both ends of the ice. Today a lot of guys didn't play well, and Sens were extremely effective on pass interception and blocked shots. Their goalie played really well too. Ggs though, on to the next game.

With everyone trashing and dumping on the Leafs, the NHL should intervene and force MLSE to sell and relocate the Leafs to Houston as Leafs fans have shown an apathy towards the Leafs that they don't want them in Toronto anymore. Toronto's lost is Houston's gain as the Leafs will play better in Houston anyways.
