@@Lovingisnecessary Perhaps that says something about your teammates. Or, perhaps it says something about you. Not knowing you or your team, none of us here can comment as to what was wrong on that dysfunctional group. We can comment on the fact that Avery was hated by teammates and foes for a very good reason. He is one of the most unlikable hockey players in the 55 years I've watched hockey. I've had some old timers tell me that he might not have lived long enough to have a career in the 1950's and early 60's.

I don't think that Ovi and Sid ever really had much of a beef. They're just passionate competitors. They always seemed to have a mutual respect for each other throughout their NHL careers. A lot of players will get into fights, laugh about it, and shake hands afterwards. Just part of the game.

Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin do not hate each other anymore, and it was more based on competitive elite-level rivalry. Both men had in there early days tons of expectations and there teams being division rivals further ignited tensions. Both wanted to win badly! @@pjp7259 There's a balance to be had. Some guys have their name engraved but are not respected by their peers or the fans. Others are regarded as some of the best to ever play but have no hardware to show for it. Marchand falls into the camp of "the kid you're forced to take in gym class who landed on the most stacked team." If the NHL wasnt so soft in the front office, he'd have been getting his tongue sewed back on after someone uppercut him the moment they saw it. The 1970s NHL lineups of 4 goons, a skills guy and a goalie is not something to be proud of but the overcorrection that protects some of these guys has hurt the game in the other direction too.

Everyone here whining about "these arent all legends." A legend does not have to be a player that is the top of the game all time. Its someone who stands out and is talked about for years to come, who makes an impact and leaves a legacy that is outsized of their roster spot. Most of these guys definitely achieved that status. For an example outside of hockey, Steve Dalkowski was a Baltimore Orioles minor league pitcher who was estimated to throw above 120mph by Earl Weaver, Cal Ripken Sr. and many others who compared his speed as highly in excess of Nolan Ryan's. He Smashed a hole through a backstop with a pitch. After watching him warm up Ted Williams asked to step in against him and actually left the batters box after one or two pitches (going off memory sorry) because he knew he wasnt ging to be able to hit it, and didnt want to get hit by it. Dalkowski never made a name in the majors, is not one of the greatest of all time, but is still a legendary figure. Bertuzzi, Moore, Avery, Lucic are all legends for the things they did, but they are not legendary players like Sid, Ovi, Brodeur, Ryan Miller, etc.

What Bertuzzi did sucks, but it didn't prevent Moore from making millions, we're talking 2004 not today. He never would have done that with his stats and talent. He scored 12 points in 69 games (despite his line mates Sakic and Kariya) in 3 seasons not 2, and you're talking about facts and can't even get the stats right. Even in the AHL he only scored 0.42 points per game. He was already 25 years old at the time of the incident, long past his talent age. What do you think the big scoring explosion is going to happen here... He probably made more money with his lawsuit than he ever would have in his hockey career. @@martins.1837The guy in the video clearly said that Bertuzzi prevented Moore from making millions. That's just nonsense. What Bertuzzi did sucks, but it didn't prevent Moore from making millions, we're talking 2004 not today. He never would have gotten there with his stats and lack of talent. He scored 12 points in 69 games (despite his line mates mostly being Sakic and Kariya) in 3 seasons not 2, and you're talking about facts and can't even get the stats right. Even in the AHL he only averaged 0.42 points per game. He was already 25 years old at the time of the incident, long past the age of talent. What do you think, the big scoring explosion is coming here now? He probably made more money with his lawsuit than he ever would have in his hockey career. So maybe look facts up before writing some dumb shit you can't back up.

You have zero clue what you’re talking about. It changed the man’s entire life. Steve Moore went to Harvard. He couldn’t work PERIOD. That is easily millions!

13:17 That's incorrect. They traded both Hoffman and Karlsson to the Sharks. Hoffman was traded from Ottawa to San Jose, then a couple of hours later San Jose traded him to Florida. Because of the Hoffman trade and flip there was an additional conditional 1st round pick in the Karlsson trade that would've been sent back to the Sens if San Jose traded him to a team in the Eastern Conference before the upcoming 2018-19 season (the final season of his contract) ended.

If moore wants to cheap shot a player he needs to answer the call. The only reason for his injury was his rufusal to do so.

It was nice to see Tom Wilson lifting the Stanley cup, and reeves had to watch, from the the locker room IN HIS OWN HOUSE. Though I guarantee if reeves played with him they'd be best friends.

The refs only gave a 2min penalty to Lucic because that's all there was; 2mins for roughing.
