In Round 1, Bunting was ejected from Game 1 against Tampa Bay, which the Lightning won against Toronto. Bunting received a 3 game suspension, and the Leafs won all 3 games. Bunting comes back for Toronto in Game 5, and the Lightning won that game. A parallel between that series and the WCF, despite the circumstances being very different.

To be fair, sweeps usually feel like there was one team that dominated the other. This is the first time I've ever watched a sweep and have no notes for the losing team. Carolina played amazingly. Now that ties are gone, this is one of the few times I would ever say that a team didn't lose, they just didn't win.

It’s very rare that a team is so competitive in a series they get swept in, the prime example of this is the 2005 World Series when the Astros got swept but lost by a combined 6 runs, including a 14 inning marathon.

@@VGCeilingFan Robo probably isn't top pick for captaincy since he is on the spectrum. Assistance for sure, but Robo is all about technical performance and should be allowed to do that as his primary. Heiskanen maybe, but Hintz just seems like a better fit. Pavelski is clearly the best leader, but he's only going to be around for one season - two at most

Just throwing this out here. For a few years, the Arizona Coyotes had 2 starting goaltenders in the these confrence finals, Adin Hill and Antti Raanta. Oh and the starting goaltender was Darcy Kemper, who won the cup last year... So yeah, the worst team in the league had quite the elite goaltender core.

To be fair though, it was just as much Francouz as it was Kuemper. Kuemper had a really hard time overcoming the yips and had to be pulled or not start due to it. I was not a big fan of Kuemper and he didn't have as much of a hard time because the Avs had such a clutch rush offense scheme where 40+ SOG games were the norm for us, so he was only relied on for a handful of break aways. We got a huge upgrade when we released him.

Those weren't even the best saves on Dallas by a Knights goalie this year. Laurent Brossoit gets that honor with his windmill no look save during a regular season OT game.

9:43-9:48 The real highlight was the clip of Gandalf playing during a replay of Hill's second save. You know who else Vegas should thank for Hill? Arizona. His NHL journey started there before he went to San Jose.

When I played NHL Hitz 2002 there was a player we would always pick before Tkachuk and it sounded like the announcer would yell "WHAT THE TKACHUK?" As an 11 year old it was the funniest thing in the world. We wrote it on the road in chalk and got in a lot of trouble.

The play by play/commentators didn't even react or point out how fugging amazing the Robertson goal was. Tapped out of mid air on the backhand straight over to the forehand then hit out of mid air and into the net. LIKE Whaaaaat. Forget the athleticism, how about just having the presence of mind to think of doing that in a split second. That's probably one of the coolest goals I've ever seen. All they say is that he batted it out of the air, like it just popped up and he hit it in. Maybe they didn't see the tap over to his forehand, but what about the replay???

What happened to the not calling penalties in the final minutes of a crucial game unless it is an egregious one? Why give the Panthers a power play with less than a minute left in the game? This was a pure and simple gift by the refs. Florida was going to win this series no doubt but that just made it look so shady. Hope Vegas stomps them in the Final. (Not a Canes or Vegas fan by the way)

That's the hardest thing to watch as a fan, is absolute lunacy of reffing in the NHL. There's zero consistency, there are official rules, there are unofficial rules, there are refs who see things but aren't allowed to make calls, there are refs who are allowed to make calls but don't because of how the game is being played.... and don't even get me started on what qualifies a player for a suspension.

I hope neither Florida nor Las Vegas win the cup. There should be no winner this year given that both teams in the final are dirty top to bottom. The NHL should spend the off season trying to figure out if they want fans or not because the playoffs are completely unwatchable now. I don't intend to watch hockey next year at all.

What I can't abide is referees changing the complexion of the game by missed calls or bad calls and cheap, dirty teams profitting by that. Florida is the prime example; however, Las Vegas does its share as ell. The Leafs have Bunting; however, he's not very good at the cheap stuff and constantly gets the short end of the stick. If there has to be a winner, then let it be Las Vegas even though I know it's going to be Florida and ya, that pisses me off but nots much as it once did given that I don't watch the NHL anymore. Thank you for your interest in my well-being.
