I scorekeep with my local hockey league. The number one rule is that scorekeepers must be neutral and must not appear biased towards either team. I have only seen a near-miss goalie goal once, and you’d BETTER BELIEVE I was cheering it on.

Was at the game when Brossoit made that save. Couldn't believe he did it. Asked my son sitting next to me, "How did that not go in?'". Amazing save. When they went to the shootout my son and I looked at each other said, "Too bad that save wasn't in a win." We kind of knew that Dallas had the better shootout goalie. 43 shots for each team in that game. Great game.

I would say that Mackinnon's Goal against Winnipeg should have been a Hat-Pick.. The goal is good nonetheless but, its key to note that Mack normally goes glove side high on breakaways. Hellebuyck knows this, so he actually prepares for that, and Mackinnon fakes and sends it blocker side, It was so smooth and truly elite and such a great payoff to switch it up on the fly like that.

The Avalanche this week had 3 games in a row where they scored on the first shot on net. Winnipeg game got 4 goals on 5 shots. Calgary game got 2 goals on 2 shots and Vegas game got 1 goal on 1 shot. That has to be some sort of highlight for sure. (I guess the Vegas goal will come in Dang-its)

Pretty incredible to see Brossoit on here, honestly. My buddy and I went to a Henderson Silver Knights game in November and Brossoit was the starter. He gave up four goals in the first period and was pulled before the period ended. That was against the third-worst team in the AHL at the time. He seems to have figured it out now. Good for him.

Ullmark's goal is even more impressive when you focus on the fact that the puck landed in the high slot. It didn't even hit the ice until it was already deep in the Canucks' zone. If he had a little more power on that shot, it could have hit the net before hitting the ice. What an incredible achievement for Ully

Listen to the recent milestone of Ovi's goal and how upset people were at the lackluster call of the broadcast, vs the local radio guy. ESPN even tweeted and edited video of the game overlayed with the radio broadcast because it was much more exciting.

Crazy Fact: the Goalie Goal wasn't even the rarest type of goal we saw this week. Ilya Lybushkin's goal was a Short Handed OT Winner, something twice as rare as a goalie goal.

Ullmark's shot is so clean. Bounces once at the hash mark and is almost centered from 190 feet. Impressive aim under pressure.

A crazy thing with the ullmark goal. The day before (or two or something) in the swedish allsvenskan Carl Lindbom (goalie in swedens J20 team) scored a goalie goal aswell. Good week for swedish goalies I guess.

I hate to put a damper on that ishakov goal but pretty sure the puck made a backwards movement at the end before he flicked it between legs. It could be the camera angle though so the movement may have been lateral. Either way even if it was an illegal movement of the puck I'm glad the ahl kept it in because the goal itself was sick

Connor and Leon had 3 points each in that game against Philadelphia. What makes the Minnesota comeback against Columbus more glorious is that the Wild just took Gustav Nyquist out of the Blue Jackets' hands. For a 5th round pick. Ullmark's goalie goal means that Boston has now been on both sides of the goalie goal (they allowed one to Ron Hextall in a game in 1987). May have been a good save by Shes, but that has to be a one-timer. If TVR one-timed that, it would have been a goal.

Dear Steve, The Sabres beat the Lightning in overtime 6-5. Tage Thompson had a hat trick. It was the first time the Sabres scored six on Vasilevskiy. Ilya Lyubushkin scored his first goal of the year in overtime on Vasilevskiy unassisted. The Sabres beat the Panthers in the very next game 3-1. Craig Anderson had forty-nine saves, one of which was a pad stack/windmill save. Thompson had an assist hat trick. This put the Sabres in a playoff spot for the first time in over a decade. The game after that we played the Capitals and won 7-4. Dylan Cozens had a hat trick. May you please put any of these things in the next Hat Picks video? As a fan of the Vegas Golden Knights I was waiting and pleasantly satisfied to see the save by Laurent Brossoit in OT against the Stars was in Hat Picks. Personally I'm not a real fan of Brossoit because he isn't great in the one on one shoot outs, which he proved me correct in that game as they lost the shoot out to Dallas. He's only called up with the Golden Knights because of Thompson's injury right now. But that save deserved to be here. It was amazing.

As a B's fan who only gets to see him a few times a year, that was my thought as well. He looks like he could score 4 goals every time he plays us. The NHL has been around for like 110 years(?) and there is no one who has ever skated the way he does. I thought McKinnon was the best skater I have ever, but McDavid is otherworldly.

Benn's goal was awesome, but I want to throw out the reason that Stars-Golden Kinights game was even in overtime out there. Robertson with the insane keep of the zone to prevent the empty netter, and lead to the tying goal by Hintz. Great play. Stars won in the Shootout.

To be fair, Sam Ersson has actually been a GREAT goalie for The Flyers. For some reason, he wins by standing on his head and facing 40 shots... Hart still gets thrown in over and over. Then, they use Sandstrom. I mean, I understand that his AHL numbers aren't very good. But his NHL numbers are. And that's all that matters. Besides, I've heard goalies talk about how the lower the league, the harder it can be. Because you have guys like that, mixed with guys that are barely in the pros. In the NHL, they are all superstars really. Think about it. The VAST majority of hockey players are not pros. Most are beer league, youth travel, and high school. Anyway, if The Flyers were smart, they would stop starting players based on how much they are paid and more on what they do on the ice. Specifically, Ersson.

I love Brossoit (he was a better backup than the Jets' current "All-Star" backup goalie), but def not save of the year. It was a desperation move with a LOT of luck. Had they won the game, it might've been more impactful. Well done either way.

As an old goalie myself, I have always hated the butterfly and the taking away the lower half of the net by laying your stick along the ice. It warms my heart to no end to see a bunch of goals all around the league being scored top shelf. The butterfly and the paddle are both dead. Lets see some real goaltending now.
