If you go back and look what I found funny was he looks at his stick a few seconds longer than he normally does before going off. My guess is he was checking to see if the blade would snap or not.

A few days ago in the Finnish Liiga, a defenceman called Tarmo Reunanen scored a Michigan goal after deking an opponent. In the playoffs. And it was a game-winning goal. THAT was a hat-pick!

Yeah but to be fair, that entire Bruins vs Canes game was extremely underwhelming. I was there and every single goal was just so soft. Not to mention the majority of the game was played in the neutral zone with each team kinda just slapping the puck around. It looked like 2 junior high teams on that ice. That said, Pastrnak is the first Bruin since the 93-94 season to score 50 goals in a season and that is definitely worthy of being a hat pick.

I was in the building for KJ’s Michigan, and everyone knew what he did immediately. The place went nuts, hands were on heads and jaws were on the floor. It’s been a tough year in Columbus, but that’s a highlight I won’t forget

The ending would have been better if it was Steve doing an impression of Ken Daneyko doing Tortorella. What I loved about the Sorokin paddle save was it never sounds that LOUD because it comes off the blade. This was flush in the middle of the shaft...he got all of it like he meant to do it.

Guy Lafleur's coach laughed at him when he was around 12years old because he wasn't able to lift the puck backhanded. He took it very personally, practiced at the arena for days, staying until the staff told him the arena was about to close. 2weeks later he was shooting the puck top net from the redline. I don't know if it has been quantified, but you see this in football too, where an unforced error results in a positive play for the opposition. There's likely some psychological driver for this along with just the random odds.

We all know what the unbridled cheer for a goal sounds like. There is a particular sound that a crowd makes when it’s something absolutely sick, like an unexpected windmill dunk, or the Markquis Nowell lob the other night to beat MSU. That was the sound the Nationwide crowd made for KJ’s goal, first time I’ve ever heard a Nationwide crowd get to do that. Unreal.

2 things… Pasta’s 50 goal/600 point should 100% be here! But more importantly not even one word about Draisaitl’s two ridiculous passes to set up McDavid on his 60 goal? Like the goal is impressive, especially since McDavid did the exact same thing twice, the stick is also impressive since it didn’t break after he slammed it into the boards (CCM ad right there) but to me what’s impressive the most and should be a hat pick on its own is Draisaitl’s effort on that play and those two passes… without that no goal would happen…
