With McDavid, a leader, he thrived and when Pavelski was still captain in San Jose he thrived as well. Once again I’m not saying Kane is a saint, but I don’t think it’s entirely his fault

The rumors we heard here in Calgary was that Dion was having an affair with Craig Conroy's wife. Also that Iggy, who is great friends with Craig, didn't like Dion either.

Can confirm with inside sources from the time. Dion and Reggie did not see eye to eye anyway, but Dion banging Connie’s wife set the stage for his departure. Iggy and conroy were best friends, and found out right before practice or training at the dome. Walked into the dressing room and ko’d Dion, then went straight to Murray Edwards who he’s also friends with and demanded that he won’t put skates on again for the flames until phaneuf is gone. The trigger was literally pulled that night (edit: or the next day? Can’t remember for sure) on a rush trade, hence why the flames basically got nothing for phaneuf who was at an all time high market value. It’s worth noting that Jerome is really close with the Edwards family, and was friends with Murray. When you’re the star, face of the franchise, and good friends with the owner you get what you want. And when you f*ck around, you will find out - some people noticed a bit of a black eye developing on Dion’s Neanderthal face when the cameras caught him for an interview the morning he packed his bags.

If I remember correctly, Phaneuf had an issue with Craig Conroy, rumor around here is Phaneuf slept with Conroys wife which led to a massive locker room issue. Conroy was a fan favorite and a true teammate, I heard Iggy held Phaneuf down in the locker room while Connie fed him punches

question is this question is this... were lindros and Brenda more friends before this happened? if they were, Eric violated "the man code". if they were not friends, and Rod's wife, betrayed rod, she has to go. and if you're from New York like me, you know what the term has to go means. and if rod and Eric were friends that would mean Eric would have to go. that's the rules of life you betray, you f around, you go. if everyone live life like this it would be a much better place. you don't mess with another man's wife especially if you know him. if you're a chick and you want to betray your husband well you may end up dead. that's the rules of life. on another note, back in 1987 I was on the professional staff at the St Andrews golf and country club in Boca Raton Florida. having been a huge Los Angeles dodger fan. I remember somewhere in the mid to late seventies, there was a fight between Don Sutton and Steve Garvey in the locker room spirit garbage sustained a black eye, but for years I wondered what it happened. Rick Roaden, a good picture with the Dodgers, and also one of the best hitting pictures of all time. Rick was also a scratch golfer for many years. he happens to come to my club one day, me being 23 and a little naive I guess, asked him what had happened in the locker room between Sutton and Garvey. well, he looked at me with such disdain, and screamed"Are you f ing kidding me? he repeated this two more times. I felt literally at 6'2, I was maybe 2 ft 6. I find out later on from Stan Jefferson a major league player with the Yankees and the Mets that you never talk about locker room stuff to the public. the public just never supposed to know that stuff. true story wish I would have known now would I know then. people don't understand the game of hockey, it's kind of a shame that they really ruin the game in the last 10 years but that kind of stuff used to always go on and that's part of the strategy kind of part of the cat and mouse. look back at John Brophy and Jacques. Demears. speaking of the one and only Mr John brophy. was good friends of my father's during the 60s and the early 70s while a member of the Long Island ducks. Paul Newman's character and slap shot was based upon John Brophy. that was a guy unless you or maybe Nick fatio, Gordie Howe Gordie Howe, or Clark Gillies, you don't want to mess around with him. JD

I knew the Brind'Amour/Lindros fight would lead the list. I heard Rick Tocchet sided with Brind'Amour and beat the crap out of Lindros right there in the locker room. Stuff like this happens a lot, especially with a bunch of alpha males with overblown egos in the middle of extended losing streaks...tempers flare when fingers start pointing in their faces. @@gregharrison76 that's true but it was alleged to have happened towards the end of the 1999-00 season, after Brind-amour's trade, when Lindros was rehabbing for the playoffs and Tocchet was traded at the deadline for the final 16 games of that season.... the team claimed Lindros was injured during rehabilitation at home and he remained out of the lineup until The Eastern conference final game 6 (note the next game the Flyers lost 2-1 when Stevens famously knocked him out of the park skating over the blue line with his head down

Tocchet is also rumored to have gone after Lindros reporrs where Lindros , Tocchet got in to a fight and Recchi also got hurt breaking it up. The only reason i kind of believe it is before a game the Flyers Announcers where talking about Lindros & Recchi where last minute Scratches before the game not Jim Jackson but other said something about Boys will be Boys. Hear the show Philly Daily News live wss talking rumor fights in the Philly sports locker rooms and it was said on the show but no reason why Tocchet gone after Lindros so who knows

@@csnide6702 I think your original thoughts on phaneuf were/are the view of most fans. Living in Calgary and watching a lot of their games live it was clear to see how he was alllowed to get that reputation so easily. Robyn was a very reliable stay at home defenseman, and that allowed phaneuf to make the high risk plays jumping into the rush, or focusing on taking the body at all cost. He had lots of highlight reel hits and slap shots - all thanks to the play behind the scenes of Regehr.
